Is there anything that helps food preservation to keep from browning and expiring so soon? I know lemon can work, but I also saw a citric acid supplement that claims to be raw and used for sprouting. However, does anyone know of something else other then lemon?

My dd refuses to eat anything with banana that has been stored for even a few hours. I think it's bc of the browning and the taste does change a bit too. She's super picky about this and it's becoming wasteful and expensive for us! I can only eat so much peach and banana pudding :)

Thanks.

Not really. A little lemon juice, no air exposure, and cold temperatures are about the best you can do. Prepared stuff is GOING to oxydize. Fresh stuff will keep better. The best way to preserve a plant is to have it growing in the ground. Heh..heh....

A friend of mine invested $40 in a vacuum bag sealer and she uses rinsed out milk bags for her food storage bags. She says they work better than the vacumm bags that come with the unit. She isn't raw though.
