View Full Version : Starting a thirty day fast

I've fasted before, and now its time again.
I've been wanting to do a long fast [30-40 days]
all year but when ever I'd start I'd stop after ten days or so because I was either to busy or I was fasting for the wrong reasons.
Now that its summer and I'm taking fewer collage class's and working less this is the perfect time.

I'm fasting for:
My skin, get rid of acne and heal scared skin
renewal
be healthier and have more energy

If anyone else wants to join me or is already fasting please join this thread. I find support helps me from this web site because If you try to share your feelings with most people around you they think your crazy.

Juice fasting, or water fasting? I'm doing a one day juice fast tomorrow, just to reassure myself that I CAN do it.


(And by the way, it's like you were typing everything that I've been thinking in the past few days on this thread! I too am finally able to fast for the right reasons, because of college letting out etc.
And the ACNE thing! OMG. I'm fasting for that too. I'm going to try juicing all sorts of green things: broccoli, asparagus...everything.

Just what I was looking for. I started a fast today, so please count me in.

I need to detox, lose a lot of weight and regain control in my life. Food has been the monkey on my back for so long, I feel it's time to go to battle, once and for all.

I am back on the wagon, too. :-)

I plan to fast all of June. It's gotten rough. I turn to other things then, which isn't so great. :-(

I am Master Cleansing. What are you doing? And when did you start?

I'm cleaning out, mentally, right now.

Next week I aim to go hiking every day almost. It kicks my butt, cardio and toning all in one!

That's starting Tuesday, of course....

I will get on the scale again June 1st, no sooner. To see what I'm up against for June...

I was considering a MC, but I cannot tolerate the taste :(

I'm going to do straight water for at least 10 days and then I'll try to continue with you on juice/water.

I am on Day 3 of a Juice Fast. So far, so good. Headaches the first two nights but feeling good tonight. My husband and I decided to do it together to lose weight and get healthy.

Let's keep each other posted.

Well, I ate last night. Struggling.

I am hoping to stay on lemonaid all weekend (out of town)
and will water fast a few days next week.

June is 30 days. I will weigh myself June 1st. I won't now. Too worried.

Ok, May 31st and time to check up on everyone.

I am on Day 10. I have lost a total of 12 pounds and have more energy. Headaches went away about Day 4. Craving pizza and mexican food for some reason.

I am going to go to Day 14 and see how I feel. I would really like to go to Day 30 but I don't know if my hubby can last that long.

Some of the juices I have been creating...
- Watermelon
- Cantaloupe
- Carrot/Apple
- Orange/Pineapple/Grapefruit/Strawberry
- Tomato/Beet/Celery/Cucumber
- Apple/Celery

And then with my wheatgrass juicer, we have been making shots of deep greens... Kale, Parsley, Spinach, Alphalpha Sprouts. Sometimes we mix them in with the sweeter juices, sometimes not.

How are you doing? What are you feeling?

How much juice are you having each day approximately?

Hi dreamrawalwz!

We create two batches of juice every morning and that usually makes 6 large glasses (approx 12-16 oz) a day. 3 for me and 3 for Rob.

Day 12 - Feeling great in my clothes!

Drinking a tomato/beet/celery/radish/cucumber/carrot/green pepper concoction. Yum!!

Hi everyone! Something just called me to a fast, so now I'm going for it. It's my day off and I've spent most of the morning doing research. :)
I have decided that I'm going to do 2 days of fasting w/ diluted juices. After that I'm going to water fast for 15-21 days- go as long as I can- and then another 3 days of juice fasting. If any hunger gets absolutely unbearable then I'll just revert back to some diluted juice.
I'm fasting for these reasons:
1.A new slate for my health.
2.More energy.
3.Improved will- power and motivation.
4.Let go of the addictions of caffeine & nicotine.
5.Weight loss. (I want to lose 20 lbs- currently 5'7" and 160lbs.)

I've started my juices today. By the way...strawberries, bananas & an apple diluted with water is AMAZINGLY tasty!

I'm going to start a blog on the experience a little later today. Good luck everyone!!! :)
