ok so over the past 9 months i've radically changed my diet. it started by not changing my eating habits but switching to organic. i eliminated the harmful chemical additives but kept eating bread, meat, eggs, cheese, chocolate, etc. then, i tried going raw right off the bat - that lasted a week. i switched back to a mix of raw and rice, lentils, things like that, and occasionally fish. recently i switched to a high raw diet. i've done 1 7 day fast and 3 2-3 day fasts during that time.

so i've never had any real detox issues, which i believe is b/c i used the sauna frequently during this time. but i did notice that on my face i had a whitehead that would never "surface." i want to make this the least disgusting i can, but essentially a whitehead usually forms and then gets redder and pops out more. this was like an oval shaped packet of white pus, but it was further below the surface than a normal whitehead and had never surfaced.

so i was sick of looking at this on my face, and after about 5 months i finally took a pin and broke the skin. what came out (again, sorry) was very white and creamy in consistency, not slightly yellow and watery like pus. i knew this was not normal, but after thinking about it an idea came to me - tell me if this is something you all have run into, or something like it.

i had bad acne in middle school and high school. i was prescribed a medication in the form of a cream which i applied every day for about 3-4 years - i'm 21 now. the white substance that came out reminded me very much of that substance. is it possible that this was remnants of that cream surfacing? i heard steve prussack say on rvr that he had a similar experience with tar from cigarette smoke.

sorry for the long post, let me know what you think.

Wow! Cool story! Thanks for all the descriptives!! ha, ha.

I bet it could be that cream detoxing, but more than likely my guess is it is just pus. Who knows??!

I bet you are glad it is out of there though! Did you have a big red mark on your face after you used the pin? Did it heal quickly?

It is most likely just due to your change in diet and detoxing or even the sauna causing clogged pores if you do not wash your face afterwards. You know that hardcore opiate users will prolong showering because it's believed the dirt and oil produced clogs the pores and keeps the drug active in the body longer! Not sure if it's scientifically proven, but more then likely your body is ridding itself of toxins and this will come out through your skin too! Much about life is like this, things get worse before they get better. Even plastic surgery victims, I mean patients, will typically have an adverse reaction before results are seen.

If it continues for a prolonged period of time then you may be eating something that you do not tolerate or you could be prone to staph infections (I had a massive staph infection on my face while pregnant and it hurt really bad and was bright red with pus). Pus, is the result of inflammation that forms in the area of an infection and is actually dead white blood cells that respond to assist in fighting an affected cell. Pus usually equals infection, which is due to the bodies immune system response! Check out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pus

Above site also states,
"An accumulation of pus in an enclosed tissue space is known as an abscess. A visible collection of pus within or beneath the epidermis, on the other hand, is known as a pustule or pimple. Pus is produced from the dead and living white blood cells which travel into the intercellular spaces around the affected cells."

Good luck!
