What is your MUST have appliance.....

I'm thinking I need something food-processerish....

And possibly that spiral slicer.....

Trying to make my anniversary present request......

Alissa's book will be on it.....

Just trying to think of a must have to ask for that isn't too expensive.

I'm holding out to see if I am in this for the long haul.....b/c then I will get a dehydrator (making do with some made for sale---crackers and such from the health food store).

What should I put on my list?

TIA!

A blender.

If you already have one, get a juicer.

I average using my blender once a day; I often use it twice. I use my Champion juicer three to four times a week and just love my kitchen toys! Probably use my Cuisinart three times a week too.

A blender is really my only NEED with raw (and mine was just a cheapo walmart one that works GREAT!!) Everything else is just *fluff* ... might be fun to have from time to time, but isn't needed for me.

Right now, I have only a vitamix blender and a spirooli. I use the vitamix two times a day minimum, sometimes more like 5!! When I had EVERY appliance you could imagine, I used the vitamix daily, food processor probably every other day, and the rest sporadically.

You can do most anything with a blender!

I use my blender 2 to 3 times a day. I use my food processor once or twice a week. I do not have a dehydrator yet. I also do not have a juicer, but my Blend-Tec had a whole juice setting to make juices out of fruits and veggies, as long as you add a little ice to keep the liquid cold amongst all that friction.

I have a smoothie blender..just haven't ventured to make any yet.
(I am worried that a green smoothy would have leaf chunks in it which skeeves me out!).

I'm thinking a food processor as well...the juicers I have seen are a hefty price.

Now I am curious if I should try to make a smoothy concoction.

You should absolutely try a green smoothie! The only greens you might want to avoid until you get a super duty blender, because chunks turn your off, is kale. That's the only one I've had that doesn't blend smooth with my lil walmart oster blender (it get kale pretty smooth, but there is still a little bit of texture there. Doesn't bother me at all, but it might you). The rest of them blend up completely. Try one! They're fabulous!

I use my blender daily

my mini chopper several times a week

food processor 1-2 times per week

dehydrator about once per week, sometimes less.

I use my Vitamix every day....my food proc. weekly. Hardly ever use my juicer. Now that my own veggies are growing in the garden, I will juice my cukes. And soon, wheatgrass everyday. So....my wheatgrass juicer will be every day too.

Blender and food processor. I use my dehydrator a few times a month. I'm about to buy a Vita-Mix so I can start drinking some serious green smoothies. :D

I'm cozy with my juicer. ;)

My food processor gets me through the days.
Second runner up is either the Saladacco or the mandolin slicer.
I rarely use my blender, oddly enough.

#1. I use my blender 3x a day, so I own two. One powerful one and one more middle of the road. I use it for smoothies, nut milks, dressings, desserts, etc.

#2. I use my food processor about 2x a week. I also have a mini prep I use about 2x a week.

#3. I use my dehydrator about 2-3x a week depending on what I want to have

Everything else: sprial slicers and whatnot I use about 2x a week, but they are not big investments like a good blender for instance.
