well maybe it was, the awful headaches that were plaguing me- i decided to see if it really was detox by adding in some cooked food, well they didn't go away so i went to the doctor and as i suspected i have migranes
then i was having some super chest pains- and come to find out the lining of my lungs is inflamed, can detox do this?

Yes. Suggestion: Make sure you do not flip-flop. Only make the changes to raw that you are VERY comfortable with....and are prepared to continue for a lifetime.

It's very likely an allergy. Have you considered being dairy intolerant? Have you considered being gluten sensitive? Peanuts?
Many foods, additives can trigger migraines.
I agree do not vacillate. Make a choice: Raw or Not, and stick to it.

It also COULD have been detox.
HAve you ever smoked or lived in a smoggy place?

The raw could have been detoxing your lungs.
Just a thought...

the only time i went off raw was to see if the headaches were detox, i was 100% no flip flopping that's why it was so diffucult for me to deal with, i thought raw was supposed to take away the headaches
i know i'm not sensitive to nuts or dairy, and when i was raw i was staying away from nuts (i didn't have any in the house lol) so i don't think it was an allergy
i've never smoked and haven't lived with a smoker since my parents divorced when i was 13, i don't think michigan's really smoggy, but you never know
i'm sure it was part detox, getting the junk out of my system but unfortunately that junk turned into migraines and lung inflamation :(
anywhoo- i just started my sunflower seeds soaking for my rawritos, i'm so excited to see how they turn out this will be my first time using the dehydrator, and tommorrow i'm 100%!

Your lungs are also part of the major eliminatory organ system. In other words, we detox thru them also. The inflammation like any other is a bodily adaptation to tell us that we are out of balance.

Headaches are a great indicator!

Soothing the lining thru eucalyptus oil steam is helpful. If you are into herbs, marshamallow root is great for the respiratory system in conservative amounts and not abused. Slippery elm is a favorite of mine if you do not car for the marshmallow.

Or simply rest, eat raw or fast if you have not appetite.

How long have you been raw and how many years ago were you with the smoker? If you continue raw the toxins from the smoke you breathed as a child will eventually come out. It has been stored in your body to protect you from it along with many other things the body didn't have the ability to release at the time. I have heard of middle-age people detoxing things from childhood after 4-6 years raw.
