I recently bought some buckwheat and oat groats and I plan on sprouting them soon. How can I eat them once they're sprouted? Do I just grab a spoon and pop them in my mouth or does anyone have any easy recipies that don't require a food processor or dehydrator?

Last week I sprouted barley, that was pretty good. I ate it with soymilk (I know, I know, not raw) and strawberries, just like cereal. It wasn't as good as the cereal I'm used to eating though.

Any advice is appreciated!

How about mixing them up with avocado and stuffing them into a collard leaf like a burrito? glad you're playing around with sproutin':)

I just sprouted some buckwheat, and I also don't have a dehydrator. I have been tossing a couple spoonfuls into salads. Right now, I am experimenting with a toaster oven on the 100 degree setting. I figure it's probably like a dehydrator... but either way, just tossing them into a salad works too.

Throw them on a salad...or in a nori roll with some avocados and cucumbers.

stick em in your food processor with some soaked dates, raisins, or honey, and make a good smooth dough. lay it thin on some wax paper and stick it on the dashboard of your car, or just directly in the sun. depending on where you live, you will have bread in anywhere from a few hours to a couple of days. it is sooooooo goood. i thought i would never get to taste bread again but i was wrong. it is amazing. this afternoon i am gonna make a huge batch with a mixture of sprouted spelt and wheat berries. yummy

Thanks Rawsurfer... so obvious. I live in a tropical climate (lots of sun), and I've been investigating solar dehydrator designs (to replace my electric one). You make me realise I've been overthinking it... just stick 'em in the sun.. of course!

Re: uses for grain sprouts. There are lots of recipes that call specifically for this grain sprout or that.. eg. raw taboule, but they go well in any salad (or fruit salad for that matter).. be generous.
