Good news rawererin! Go to town. I have most of the equipment, but recently made a small change in putting a board over two of my stove burners. Removable if needed when cooking for husband, relatives, etc. but gives me much needed counter space in the meantime. Even little things can help. And you've got a whole lot of new big things. Enjoy!!

Best,
Rawmney

I put burner covers over my grills and use a large board across them as well. Makes chopping and slicing in my mini kitchen SO much easier.

Wow! Congratulations on all the cool stuff! I am getting a dehydrator really soon. I might wait for Alissa's. Also I am going to get a new updated blender after that, maybe for my birthday in August. I have decided on a Vitamix. I am so happy for you! Let us know all the cool stuff you make, and how you like your appliances!

i've been trying to talk my mom into letting me put a board over our stove- but she's not going for it! i'm so scared almost to use the appliances, my blentec has been sitting on the counter- i've just been admiring it and i finally used it today, that thing is sweet!

Mine just sits on top and I can whip it off if / when we need the burners. Also, I'm only covering two of four since I do cook for my husband. Maybe your mom would be okay with that?

I'm kicking myself for not getting cover(s) made when we had new counters installed very recently. Could have had beautiful ones. Right now I'm using a half painted board and am a little worried about how appropriate the surface is for food contact (although I mostly use it to put dishes, bottles, etc. while doing food prep). Maybe I'll start a separate post on that question. I'm still going to call the counter people and ask if they have anything left that matches my counter.
