Ok, I was 100 % raw for one day.... I have decided that if this is gonna last I need to let salad dressing be part of my diet. I know that its not raw but isn't 97% better than 50? I still feel like my body is detoxing and like I'm on the right path. Is anyone else doing or have any advice? New to raw and trying the best that I can.:D

Hi Ashely - there a several salad dressing threads on the board. If you use the search engine, you may find a raw one you like. ~ Cathy

Apple Cider Vinaigrette:
1 part raw apple cider vinegar
1 part olive oil
after pouring this on the salad greens, season with:
salt
pepper
basil
oregano
Use good ingredients, and it'll be absolutely delicious. As for how much of each to use, just taste and adjust.
Enjoy

Is it really that bad to use already made?

If you can't find a raw dressing that will work for you at the moment, I'd suggest you find dressings that are organic with the fewest ingredients possible and you can pronounce them all. Maybe you're already doing this, but I don't know what you're currently using.

If you won't be able to start a raw diet without it, then by all means use it. However, once you get in the groove you should be prepared to face whatever demons are forcing you to consume it and eliminate it. Ultimately there should be no reason other than willpower or health to prevent you from trying to be as raw as possible. At least in my opinion. I'm no expert, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.;) I don't think many people advocate jumping right into raw at 100% from day one. That is a big change.
Mark Twain once said, "Habit is habit, and not to be flung out of the window by anyone, but coaxed downstairs a step at a time".
I eat this dressing (I buy it at Tom Thumb) and love it so much! It helps me eat my salads and I crave this dressing. I am not sure if it is raw or not but it is very healthy. Here is a link to it on amazon with ingredients-

97% > 50%
your body will eventually no longer desire it. it took me over a year to release bottled dressing from my diet. everyone travels their path at different rates and in different ways. if you can, though, definitely look into something like annies organics dressings. usually at health food stores.

Thanks for your support. I feel like I am on the right path. I just need a little bit of a step stool to get there. I hope I can get 100% soon.:)

You can also have your leafy greens in smoothies - no dressing needed. ~ Cathy

You are right and focus on the wonderful effort that you are making for your body. I personnally cannot stand any salad dressing from the store, i always made my own. You can make some very nice tasty ones and way better then the commercial one anyway.
Don't be hard on yourself and be grateful that you are making wonderful change for your health. If you really need to use this dressing salad from the store so be it,but try to buy at least the organic version so you know there isn't any hidden chimical.

Whatever it takes! I had store bought dressing for the first month or so when I went raw. That dressing doesn't look too awful, and eventually you can eliminate it if you choose! Congrats on the 4 days!
