I've been raw for 6 WEEKS and I'm STILL EXHAUSTED! :( I've read as many good threads on the subject and I'm already taking as much good advise as I can.
I was just wondering, how long did it take for YOU to get an energy boost?;)

Took me a couple of months before my energy boosted. I know you've read all the threads, but keep in mind that sometimes internal healing IS taking place and this will cause tiredness (the body heals when we rest) so, it'll happen if you're patient enough to allow it to.
Meanwhile, any other GAINS experienced since you've been raw that you can focus on and feel encouraged about?

PLUS- if your dealing with a depressed mind - like you are = and I was - your mind just requires more DOWN time !:(
I know I really need to put time in on HOW I am dealing with stress But almost 5 months in I am Feeling amazing in the Depression field. I was on Anti-depressants Big-time for 15 years. The tiredness and depression really go hand and hand- don't give up ! I know, trust me - really:) - there is light at the end of the RAW tunnel:)

Thank you so much (tears). It seems like everyone boasts so much of their amazing energy after a certain amount of time (a time which has long since passed for me). It's good to know that it's perfectly normal for it to take a while.
Rawkinlocs, the best thing I have noticed is that I have gained control of my appetite (no more refined sugar cravings) and dropped almost 20 POUNDS!
20 pounds is really good for 6 weeks right.
I am now back in my pre-pregnancy jeans, and still losing. My family back home won't recognize me when they see me again.
Solace, you are an encouragement to me. I was suprised that you remembered that I was depressed. Last week was really bad, this week is better. I'm just determined to FIGHT this depression. It is not God's will for me and it is not my destiny for me to be depressed. So being raw is my way of tryiing to treat myself God's natural way. I know it will work because I am treating the source and not the symptoms. I am so glad you are feeling better too.:)

Yes, you are doing terrific. The energy most people are talking about are the greens they take.

It goes up and down for me. I was losing energy for the past two weeks until I decided to 1. add more greens and superfoods including sprilina and 2. stop trying to cut foods out of my diet just because someone else said I should (like fats and protien). If I crave something (as long as its raw, Ill eat it.

Up and down is normal especially in the first year or sooo. I watched a David Wolfe seminar on dvd last week and he really talked about it being like peeling the layers of an onion- different stages of detox. You will have times when you have GREAT amounts of energy and then slooooow down and maybe detox a little more. Over time you will have WAY more ups then downs- they will get less and less. After 2 years RAW you start to see a complete change in Everything- your thinking/strength Everything changes:) .
I know how paralyzing depressive thoughts can be, I know how much it zapped my energy completely. The hardest thing to change is your thought process but raw helps you look at everything sooo different and all that just falls into place. Hugs sweetheart you deserve to be Happy healthy and full of power - this is calling to you and you are listening. And yes it is mighty helpfull to believe in God !:D

I am clinically diagnosed with depression and still take prozac now & then. But, I am sure that I will not need it longterm, after my cleansing is complete. I went almost 10 years very ill, not knowing that depression was the cause of it.
Also, those of us who grew up eating very SAD, we have done lots of internal clogging with today's mucoid-forming diet. Your colon is likely needing a good cleansing that you may absorb your nutrients fully. You might consider a good colon and liver cleanse.
I don't mean to get redundant about juice fasting, but I find that short, intermittent fasts help my energy enormously. Even juice-fasting a half a day makes a huge difference. That is because the burden of digestion is much greater than we often realize, and is, incidently, the reason for the famous afternoon siesta. I was always a low-energy person. When I was young, my friends called me "Mr. Slow." Your system may need a good flushing out. But I fully agree with all that is written above. ;)

First Garden,
Yes, I can't wait to do a juice fast. I also try to do regular enemas. I have been hesitating to do anything that I know will speed up my detox more than I'm already doing, because of my nursing. I don't want to overwhelm my baby. But when I get a juicer, I'll probably do at least one day a week.
Once I'm done nursing (it's gonna be a while) I'm going to do a very serious cleanse!
Many days I wish I could fast, because I don't even feel that much like eatiing at all. On those days I eat mostly fruit anyway. I'm constantly craving citrus.
Mary-Ann Shearer (author of "The Natural Way"), told me that if you were once highly addicted to sugar, and you go natural, or raw, that it takes about 3 months to start to repair the endocrine gland (controls hormonal balance) from all the damage that's been done by the many years of SAD and sugar. She also said that process requires a lot of vitamin C, which explains my obsession with oranges (I eat about 6-10 oranges a day). This has helped me to relax and hold on to hope. I was starting to forget this great advise and then you all let me know that this longer healing process has been the case with you too. Now I'm really starting to feel ok about it.
Thanks all.:) :) :)

Hang in there! ((((hug))))
I had energy very quickly...BUT...I didn't lose 20 pounds. In fact, it took me 2 years until I started to drop weight. Everyone is different, some people gain energy quickly, some lose weight, some heal painful afflictions, some break out, while others skin clears overnight! We really are all individual and our bodies choose to heal certain things first before others.
You're doing great! Celebrate those 6 weeks!!!! :)
