anemia, tiredness, pale skin, tired itchy red eyes, tension, foggy head,

These are the things I have 'suffered' with since being a child. At school i was called ghost because my face is so pale, but not see-through pale, just 'look sick' pale, with dark eyes. I have had anemia now and again. One week in the month, these things are heightned even more, and I feel depressed and tense.

A foggy head has plagued me all my life. At school, I was considered to be dizzy or gormless because I have completely in a dreamland. But I could not concentrate for long. At high school I felt tired all the time and would fall asleep on desk. This continued to being about 19. I had terrible bags under my eyes, genetically inhertited from my dear mother, but I paid to have them removed 3 years ago because I had become obsessed with them. The surgeon said they were the worst they had ever seen on a young girl (I was 27).

Now I am not so much tired as in fall asleep anywere, more depressed and tense. I still have pale skin and feel just 'yucky' sometimes.

Is this something the raw food diet will change. I spoke to my mother last night to try and get some insight into why I was like I was as a child. She said it was growing pains. She fed us a reasonable diet, although much of it was meat, two soggy veg and potatoes. we were not allowed sugar or soda.

I have had blood tests for this, that and the other, but doctors cannot find anything. My mother says it's therefore just my 'make up'.

I thought I had that body dismorh-thing at one stage and heavily looked into that. But must admit that I has some symptons.

Would love to have colour in my face and glow and not have a weight in my stomach as I open my eyes in the morning knowing I look pale etc..

Can anyone advise me further, this raw thing is my last resort.......fed up of feeling like crap. Are the symptons above something connected with food?

Hi,

I'm not an expert on nutrition or raw food, but why don't you simply try it out? Go 100% raw for 30 or 60 days and see if it makes any difference. Initially, you'll probably feel even worse (detox) but you'll probably feel a whole lot better once your body gets used to eating raw food.

Yes. I would also offer sunbaths and the sungazing process to you as tools.

I would suggest lots of fresh raw vegetable and green juices. These offer a lot of nutrients. Whenever I drink a lot of vegetable/green juices people will ask me if I go tanning because I have a golden glow and usually I am pretty pale too.
Give it a try!

You can add blackstrap molasses from the health food stores.
wheatgrass.

And force yourself to do some sort of exercise!

strength and improved circulation can make all the difference.

And second the wheatgrass. Chlorophyll-rich foods are great blood builders!

Hi Nichola,
Yes most of us here are not nutritionists or claim the raw food lifestyle can cure your ailments, but what we can do is help in encouraging a change of lifestyle that can influence the changes you wish to make.

The spring/summer is upon us and this is the best time to begin a raw foods diet.

The thing I love most is that it has really broken down my perceptions about food and how delicious and satisfying pure vegetables and fruits can taste without any processed or heated substances. I just finished a 2 week juice fast and during that time I had bursts of energy AND happiness and rediscovered my mind-body connection as well as a new experience to food.

I feel I have also won the battle against my uncontrollable cravings... now Im the one in control.

As others mentioned, start by adding pure green juices to your diet. Dont fret about 100%, you probably dont need the stress. Just eat as much raw as possible and allow your body to transition and adapt to the changing of your foods. Not only will you be eating differently, your CELLS will be eating different and each cell in your body has to be re-trained and re-programmed to accept what you give it.

If you dont have a juicer, get one. You can probably get one relatively cheap on Amazon, Ebay or walmart or maybe Alissa's if you have the budget.
Juice all greens w/ apples to sweeten them and add Spirulina.

Cabbage, Kale, Cucumber, Celery, Carrots, Apples, Green Bell Pepper, Beets...
Carrot/apple/ginger
apple/ginger
cucumber/carrot/apple

mix up the combo to your preference and experiment and have FUN!

its a great way to get started on a raw foods and lure your taste buds to a healthy realm of foods.

Anemia if bad enough, can come with all the rest of the symptoms.

Anemia aside, I'd say candida.

Other than the bags, I've been there with you. I'm there again. Which why I've started going raw. I'm only at 70-80% for the last week, and other than a nagging heading becoming nasty of a day, I feel tons better. I'm actually DOING things. Things that have been put off and put off, I just get it done. It feels good. I am going to increase my raw quantities soon, and see what happens, I'm pretty sure the detox will start full force, but I'm for gentle and gradual. But I am feeling better.

As to the anemia, my best results are when my iron is with a folic acid source, B12 source and Vitamin C. My Naturopath gave me a supplement containing just those. My Dr had said I needed a transfusion, and I declined, he was mad. I went to the naturopath, did an anti candida diet, and the supplements, went back to the Dr in a few weeks and my iron levels were in a nice healthy rage.

I just read that spirulina has b-12 in it. The pacifica brand is suppose to be raw.
