...do dates last at room temp? I've had mine in glass jars on the counter, and hadn't really touched them since March. I had one the other day and it seemed fine, but now I'm wondering if maybe I should throw them out?

hehe I forget they're just a regular fruit and not a dried fruit...cause they look like giant raisins to me!:p

I keep mine at room temperature for over a year. They're fine.
At some point, I've had them begin fermenting and they make the BEST liquor in the world! Don't drink... ummm... I mean EAT too many though!

Seriously, you do not need to refrigerate dates. Just keep them in a tightly lidded glass jar.

I once got a bad date - I opened it to pit it and there was mold. That was the only time I have ever seen a bad date. Anyhow, you'll know when you shouldn't eat them.
