I tried this recipe from Alissa's book and it is absolutely delicious and filling-I could only eat 4-5 bites! The drawback though, is I had digestion problems. I attributed it to being 8 months pregnant w/IBS-and not completely raw (until after the baby is born). My meat and potatoes husband ate some and absolutely raved about it-I was psyched! I figured he wouldn't have problems, as he has a very strong stomach. However, he had digestion problems as well. I guess it's b/c of the strong nut content. Was this a common reaction w/anyone else?

Well, that (the fact it is rich) and the fact that you are not 100% raw. Your body still has toxin foods in there that mess with the raw foods...mho

I could only eat a small portion of this recipe as well. I'm not sure if it was because it is extremely rich, or because I ate it in the first week during detox, but I felt ill afterwards and haven't made it since. I still find that recipes that are very nut heavy do not agree with me, and I feel best when eating lighter foods, although others may be able to handle it. Just my experience... :o

I didn't really like it, it was WAY too rich for me. I was never a fan of alfredo's in my SAD eating ways either

An alfredo pizza might be good.....

otherwise, I agree with you Damzlfly, though. So rich!

Thanks for the feedback. Congrats on your raw journeys! It's quite inspiring! I'll try this recipe again after being 100% raw for several months, to see any changes in my reaction. Don't stop sharing your continued progress!:)
