Would someone please share some recipes for fruit and veggie dips? I have a mother/daughter tea coming up and I'm supposed to bring a fruit and veggie tray.
We can't have nuts and I'm having a hard time finding ones that don't use nuts as a base. (or tahini which to me taste a little like vomit:eek: )
A friend recently made a fruit dip with marshmellow cream and cream cheese. Something that looks like hers looked and is sweet would be nice. Then something for the veggies.
Thanks

Guacamole...
Avocado and ANYTHING is a great dip. You can also flavor it with curry, dill, you name it.
And for a fruit "dip" I'd maybe blend mango with something...? It's creamy.
Interesting obstacle with no nuts.. ;)

Maybe make Alissa's Spinach dip or another dip using Avocado for the vegetables.
Can you use coconut?
Maybe make a sweet dip out of coconut for the fruit

I think the coconut idea for the fruit dip is great! Have you seen the Bavarian Cream recipe?? It really IS amazingly good and I bet it would be a wonderful fruit dip - if you get that far!!! :D Just make it nice and thick!

I think I'll make some guacamole for the veggies, include some lettuce (Ilove guac rolled up in lettuce) and a small batch of corn chips.
I picked up a couple of coconuts. I can't get all the ingredients for the bavarian custard, and I don't think we could use almond extract??? (maybe imitation?) but it shouldn't be too hard to do something similar. It sounds delicious! Wonder how it would be with chocolate in it for a chocolate strawberry or banana dip?
Hey, how do you get the meat out of your coconuts. Last time I split them in half and dug it out with a knife, but that seemed kinda dangerous. I'm thinking maybe beat the living daylights out of them with a hammer so I have smaller hunks to work with? And I always end up with stuff floating in my coconut water from the shell.

You can make a chocolate pudding with avocado to dip fruits. Avocado chocolate pudding is out of this world with berries!
