Guys,

Do any of you eat Tamerinds? See below for info. I found some in an Asian Store the other day and they are really good, like a natural candy.
Anybody know what they are good for?

Ooooh, tamarind is delicious. They make yummy ice cream with it in Mexico. One of my favorites. I have a vague memory of also just chewing on the pods (I was about 13 at the time -- so it's been *quite* a while :))

A lady brought some spinach wrapped in nori with tamarind chutney on the side to our potluck. It was delicious, but I don't know how she made it.

In Alissa's book she uses Tamarind paste in one of the recipes, It might be samosas, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, she does use it, I've never tried it, but it is an exotic tropical pod that is supposed to taste heavenly.
