Okay, has anyone attempted this?

I had a "fasting" moment, pondering the possibility (I came up with my AMAZING kraut and cinnamon roll recipes while fasting, along with a cheezey onion casserole I have YET to try <making mental note>).....

Take Alissa's hamburger bun recipe, which rawks, and make two oblong tubes, h-dog bun shaped. Make a divet in them, to hold the "dog".

Take maybe the rawsage recipe (?? haven't tried it yet) and use it a bit, or a walnut meat blend and dehydrate it in tubes, dog-shaped.

Pile with my garlic-dill kraut (tastes PICKLED), raw mustard, raw ketchup, maybe a line of cheddar spread...

Yes? No? I'm thinking IT CAN BE DONE. (note: it may have been done BEFORE, who knows, that's why this board is so great)

P.S. It's not like I already don't have a catchy name. I can't bring myself to say H*t dogs, it's too gross. LOL!

I've thought about this one quite a bit. It sounds like you have the basic idea down, but I'm not quite sure about the texture. Even soy dogs have that outer 'skin'. It would be great to find something 'smooth', without the typical grainy texture that the nut 'meats' produce. I wonder if this would even be possible to reproduce in a raw version...?

In any case, I suppose the rawsage recipe might be a good place to start.

The best thing about (SAD) Hotdogs are the crispy onions...:p Anyone an idea for those?

Crunchy Onions? What about dehydrating the onion rings and crumbling them?

And okay, smoothness. I doubt they'd be super smooth is right. Would it be a brat, then?

MAYBE I SHOULD STICK WITH BRAWTWURST? :D

I will be trying this this summer......

You *could* dehydrate a thin thin layer of something to use as a 'casing' for the rawt dog/brawtworst. I was thinking the samosa coconut wrapper but I don't think that would taste good. maybe just a Psyllium/ground flax mixture with a bit of italian seasonings or hot spices if you are doing the brawtworst for varieties...

Oooh. That sounds like a lot of work for me (lol) but I definitely want a spicy brawt if I'm going with that, which I think I may. :-)
