Now at 2 months (60day) 100% raw. April 1st I am commiting to a new 30 day. I had also been raw for a short while before finding the forum as well.
Some of you may know that I got bad case of the flu and had a really bad cough that would not let me rest. It still is appearing once in a great while with crap from lungs still making way. Began riding my new bike and did not want to have my husband think the bike was going to sit after all he did to get it for me. I wanted to ride too, so I did...with this nasty flu, husband testified that the ride would help flush it out, it does for him. This did not give me a good guage to base my energy level on at all. Dizzy spells and change of vision. The combination caused me to bonk! Experienced cyclist were giving me advice to this, that maybe I was not getting in enough protein and carbs. Began to think maybe I should consider what they were telling me. Eat eggs and lean meat, and pasta, etc. Cook and eat with my family was also inviting....
I had been out of exercise scene for a few months before the bike came into the picture. Not knowing how raw was benefitting me in the area of energy for exercise because the lack of it during raw beginnings. I used to be real active but I had an incident at the gym and put my back out of commission for 6 plus months and put on some improper weight compounding the back problem..catch 22. Found a Chiropractor that slowly got me back to balance and proper alignment. Three months ago when I first started going to him he told me that I should consider losing some weight. I had already been playing with High raw in mid Dec. by the end I had made some decisions that I wanted to make major changes in my health. End of Jan beginning of Feb. I found this forum and decided to go for it. Started to feel good and lost a bit of the weight on 100% raw, the aches and pains had slowly gone away. Chiropractor said that I could begin putting exercise back in. I was ready and willing to put exercise in back in! Probably too ready...went from none to pretty active in short period of time.
So I get the new bike and begin to ride with my husband who is very athletic, and fast metabolism and seems healthy on cooked....also get advice from other cyclist, and it stirs up acceptance and desires of preparing meals with my family and eating same meal together also. So I began to try this method for a week. The second week I am feeling tired, begin to put in more raw but still eating some cooked veggies.
Now,I am almost completely over that flu. So another inaccurate guage of food and exercise combo due to the fact that I am recovering.
It did not take long to start feeling symptoms I once had before raw...heavy bloated, tired, constipation, aches and pains in many joints. My conclusion to this is that I think my Armour thyroid hormones and raw function well as a team, for my body. Also been a couple of weeks since my last chiropractor visit, and riding more, but these are different aches and pains in my joints all over.
Listening to my body and the tiny whispers that have been telling me that I was being foolish and it was time to go back to 100% raw.
What's a girl to do....but to listen to the inner voice. So past two days I had been meditating and focusing on what I needed to do to be more successful at 100%. First of all- Eat more then before! Organizing and plan out. I will purchase a couple of mesh bags to make the nut milk process easier then the now.
Today, I went to the store and bought up lots of fruits and veggies, dates, nuts, oats, etc. Came home and washed, cut up some of the veggies. Washed fruit and put a couple of things in freezer- Bananas and strawberries for desserts and sweet treats. Going to go through the book again of recipes I can make with the raw items I already have available locally. Get more involved with forum dicussions and noting past threads for more recipes and ideas.
Ready to start the day fresh tomorrow! See you all later.
