my dog has kidney stones and she was put on this special dog food diet which is pretty much meat and artificial flavors and then added nutrients in it which is "supposed" to help her. but i dont know how it could, so i was wondering if you guys would know anything natural and raw that would help her. oh and is it ok to feed fruit and veggies and coconut oil to dogs?

They will thrive best on raw meat.

Never feed grapes or raisins to a dog. They will cause kidney failure. Not sure about onions. I know they are bad for cats but I don't know about dogs. There are plenty of dog food cookbooks out there and some recipes on the Internet, some of them raw. However, they may not be suitable for a dog with kidney stones.

Definitely raw, however, I would feed more muscle meats with with egg whites, egg shells (a good source of calcium and a phosporous binder) and veggies (steamed or pulverized). You can also add some sushi rice. Since the absence or a deficiency of certain beneficial bacteria is thought to be a contributing factor in stone formation, you may want to consider supplementing with ensymes. Good luck, and hope your furbaby feels better soon ~ Cathy
