Hello! The unrefined coconut oil would be best. The refine goes through more processing.

i would check another health food store until you find one that says organic and RAW. Nutiva brand is both, alyssa sells another brand on her website, and there are a few other brands that are raw and organic too. If you are getting one thats not guaranteed raw, I dont know if I would bother spending the money... OR you could also copy down the website from the jars in the store of the unrefined ones and contact the company to find out if theyre raw....

Hey, I just found some really nice organic, cold pressed LOCAL coconut oil at People's Coop. And it's on SALE!

If it says "virgin" that = raw. I think the refined is for people who don't like the coconut taste. It will say on the label if the taste has been removed.

Yes! I get the same stuff from People's (http://www.peoples.coop) too! It doesn't look like much, but this stuff is the sweetest, freshest, tastiest coconut oil I've ever had! I use it in my "ice cream".

It's made locally in Eugene, and I'm impressed that they state the temperature right on the label (Under 100%). If you live in the northwest, I implore you to seek it out at your local co-op.

I know for a fact you can order this by the case, Andy.
A person might be able to order it directly and have it shipped to them for less than you can buy it in a store. It's very reasonable, comparatively.

Actually, I should mention the fact that my glowing praise of the above product does not necessarily mean that you should actually go out and buy it, given the fact that you can purchase Virgin Coconut Oil directly from Alissa! And while on the subject of coconut oil - where does one purchase coconut creme? Or is that just another form of coconut oil? Explain, please!
