I've been browsing the recipe board, trying to figure out what kind of raw dessert we can do for our sons birthday (he'll be 3 in a couple of weeks). I did find a TON of recipes that sounds SO YUMMY, but for a day that is so special, I want to make sure it's going to be a hit! I'd absolutely love suggestions.
We don't have a dehydrator, so keep that in mind :)
THANKS in advance!!!

(the first photo is of mushrooms, just scroll down a bit! :D - and the cake recipe that she used is linked in the same post right below the UN-FROSTED cake photo)
and later in the thread, young Zena had posted the frosting that she used:
1 cup whole cashews or cashew halves, soaked for 30 minutes to an hour
4-6 pitted dates, soaked for 5-10 minutes
1 tablespooon raw honey or maple syrup
1 tablespoon cold-pressed organic extra-virgin olive oil or cold-pressed coconut butter (optional)
1/2 fresh vanilla bean
Blend everything. Add date soak water 2 tablespoons at a time as needed to blend smooth.

ok, YUM!!!! That cake look fabulous!!! I think I'll tweak it a little bit, with dried pineapple layers, and even bavarian vanilla custard layers. Topped with that great looking frosting and strawberries (one of his favorites) Oooh, yum yum yum! I don't know if I'll be able to wait until June 1st! lol
thank you, thank you, thank you!

I made a cake with a layer of the bavarian vanilla custard in it, and then iced the whole thing with it. Truly magnificent.
