Hi all! I haven't been around for a while, but came in to say thank you, thank you, a million times thank you.
I found this site on accident a year or two ago, and it was the first I'd ever heard of eating raw as a lifestyle. I read these boards every day, learned a LOT from the people here (particularly the ones who've been here a long time - Revvell, etc.) and was inspired to also go learn as much as possible from other sources as well. And I did. And I shared the information with people in my life who were open to hearing it, in hopes that they would make some positive changes for themselves.
I was high raw for a while, but have been struggling lately. Why is it so hard to come back after falling off? lol Anyway...
A dearly loved family member has been dealing with severe depression for...well, a really long time. These last several years, it has been particularly difficult for her. Anyone here who has dealt with depression themselves, or seen a loved one go through it knows what a constant battle it is for the person suffering from it. I told this particular loved one about raw, and anytime I learned something new, I'd share it with her. Anytime I read a post from someone on this board who'd dealt with depression and gone through some real and positive changes after going raw - I shared it with her. I always hoped she'd go raw because I knew it could really help her, but was never sure whether she would or not. She did! She's about 80% - 90% now and doing great!
She calls me every day to tell me about the new things happening with her mind and body as it heals with the raw food, and it's SO wonderful! I look forward to these calls every day because I know I'm going to hear that today, she's doing even better than the day before. Every day, that's exactly what I hear and I couldn't be more excited! She's going through some detox, is seeing her colon clean out, is sleeping better, is ALWAYS upbeat and optimistic, she's got new ideas, she feels great, she's loving the changes in her skin, the list just goes on. There's such a noticable difference in her from just a few weeks ago, and she wants to keep doing more, which makes me so happy.
This woman has always inspired me SO much, and she just continues to do so every day with her example. She's a wonderful, amazing woman who deserves so much health and happiness, and now she's finally getting that, thank God.
If not for finding you people who are just loaded with information, who are willing to teach and to help, and who know SO much about the little things that we can easily forget to ask or even consider, I don't know if we'd ever have heard about raw, or learned what "healthy" really means. So thank you all for that, and for giving me something to pass on to someone who has always given me so much, and who really needed this. You guys are awesome!
