Hi all,

I have an old food dehydrator that I would like to start using (it has been sitting on a shelf). I need to buy teflex sheets though for all the recipes I am interested in. Has anyone cut the sheets before to fit a round dehydrator? Was it easy/successful? I don't want to buy a bunch only to find out that cutting them is a real hassle (the advertising material says it can be done, but I am always somewhat skeptical of advertising claims).

Also, if my initial experiments work well and are popular with my family, I was thinking of perhaps trying the apartment-sized version of the Excalibur (model 2400). Any feedback on it would be much appreciated.

Thanks all!

I would practice with parchment paper first.

Also: Be careful with those round dehydrators. Many will heat the food in excess of 120 Degrees. Test it out with a small thermometer if you are concerned about this type of thing.

They also sell them for those dehydrators.

This gave me one of those "duh, why didn't I think of that" moments! Thanks so much to all who responded.
