Peace to everyone,
A few weeks back i went and bought the Earthrise brand of Spirulina. It came in the pill form. (the powder form was waaaay too expensive for me..)
I'm not very big on pills and supplements in general unless i know thoroughly what it is and what it's doing for me. I was motivated to get some Spirulina from all the positive reviews that i here it provides for our bodies.
How many of you have in the past or presently take Spirulina.?? Is anyone familiar with the Earthrise brand..>??
Thanks a lot for any input.
PEACE

Not familiar with that brand, although I've eaten spirulina in a smoothie and a bar.
Great stuff for me. Very easily digested source of protein.

Yeah, it was powdered spirulina I'm assuming, as it was a juice bar smoothie containing spirulina and a bar I got at my favorite health foods store.
I wasn't thrilled about the taste of either the smoothie or the bar, though. Texture of the bar was also a problem as it was really slimy and looked like...well, let's say as though some four-legged plant-eater had gotten to the ingredients before they were made into the bar.
The effects were fantastic, though. I had energy out the wazoo for hours after consuming each one to the point that I'm going to experiment with green drinks myself now that I've got a juicer.

We've been using spirulina For over 20 years. I have used Earthrise, it is a good brand. I know the powder is exspensive, but it is more utilized by the body than the pills and so you get better results and waste less. We eat two tablespoons each daily.
We have it in a breakfast smoothy every morning. It was a bit difficult to get use to at first but now a smoothy isn't quite right without it.
I tried mixing it in foods for my kids and no one liked that. I mixed it in spagetti sauce and peanut butter and once in potatoe salad. I think smoothies are the only way to go.
My son will mix it with water... tough guy.
The only draw back to spirulina is that the B12 in it isn't completely useable and you can't rely on it and need a suppliment too.
:D
