Yes and Yes! I have a big root in my freezer and when I need just a tad of it, I grate it. It works fine!

Thanks, I want to peel it, bag it in small portions and use it in Smoothies. I am able to get it now but I don't know how long the supply will last. It is working just fine in Green Smoothies along with Serreno Chiles and anything else in the kitchen sink.......Thanks.
