Hi Everyone!
I currently make A LOT of green smoothies in the morning, put them in a mason jar and drink them the same day and the next morning, do they still retain the goodness in them or do you need to drink them that day?
Thanks!

Whitelotus - I was going to post the same question!
If I go to work prepared with ready made green smoothies (my favourite is banana / apple / lemon / ginger / agave / spinach) I know that I won't fall off the wagon. It's when I have nothing prepared that I end up eating any old rubbish.
I was wondering about the banana in mine going a bit funny.

Hey whitelotus - Victoria Boutenko (author of "Green for Life"), whom I consider to be the GS guru/expert says that they will keep for up to three days in the fridge. So yeah, keep making them and drinking them. Oh - and check out her book. It's loaded with really, really excellent info about GS's.

They lose nutrients as they sit, just like any food; and, especially since it has been blended, which, essentially, predigests it for you, releasing even more of its nutrients.
I would drink them right away and at the most within the same day.
Of course, if you have leftovers, it's okay to consume the next day; but I would suggest making only enough for that day's consumption.
Best,
Here's an interview with Victoria Boutenko:

I highly recommend watching it. She talks about being raw for a number of years and reaching a plateau and not feeling the best. After speaking with many rawfoodists of the time and not getting answers that were helpful she did her own research and found green smoothies to be the answer to her questions.
