Hi Daisyduke,
I picked up "Juice Fasting and Detoxification" by Steve Meyerowitz at Border's for $10. Its well written and very easy read.
He has other books as well at his website Sproutman.com
you can check reviews and even the table of contents.
good luck!

Dr. Fuhrman's book. I think it's called, "Fasting for Health." I've done a lot of reading, and this was the book that got me through my first 14 days!
Also, check out freedomyoufasting.com. There's a lot of free information there. And if you do a search on here, I believe someone posted links to various free ebooks.
Happy fasting!

The books mentioned above do sound good. I'd like to check them out myself.
And the FreedomYou website is really fine.

Also, you can read some really inspiring testimonies at FCI (Fasting Center Int'l).

Check out Star1919's fasting resource thread too, here on RFT. A wealth of info is there. It's called "Fasting Support - Fasting Information."
The free ebooks site is soil & health. Here's a preview:

There are some real classics in there that you can download, or are at least readable online.
Speaking of classics, here's a few I just copied & pasted from another post:
There's some great, inexpensive paperbacks out there:
For water fasting, some of the best I've encountered are:
Rational Fasting by Arnold Ehret.
The Miracle Of Fasting by Paul C. Bragg
Fasting Can Save Your Life by Herbert Shelton
For juice fasting, there are many more books on the market than in previous decades, due to the growing popularity and relative ease of juice fasting.
Off hand, look into anything by N.W. Walker (inventor of the legendary Norwalk juicer). He is one of the great pillars of late day health and nutrition. He's got some GREAT books on juices & juicing from a therapeutic perspective. Walker lived to be 110 years old!
Also, Laura Newman -- a Pacific NW/Canadian pioneer -- has a fine book called, "Make Your Juicer Your Drug Store." This is an old fave of mine.
Paavo Airola also has a great book called, "How to Keep Slim, Healthy and Young With Juice Fasting."
Above all, I recommend Rational Fasting (Ehret) and The Miracle Of Fasting (Bragg). These should be in every faster's library.
Good luck on your fasting plans and keep us all posted. ;)

I have pretty much all those above, and love the Freedom You site.
That's a great sign! :-)
Wish I could add one, but you've nailed it FirstGarden!

The one I like a lot is The Juiceman's Power of Juicing, by Jay Kordich...enjoy
I've read many and it doesn't get much better than Dr. Fuhrman's book, "Fasting for Health."

How to Keep Slim, Healthy and Young With Juice Fasting is a FANTASTIC BOOK! And it was written in 1971! I love it, it even mentions raw foods. And has pretty much a step by step guide. It is also short so I could read it in one day. I would try everything mentioned. Freedomyou.com is fantastic as well. bookmark that site.
