hey experts:)

I am just going to order some things online at an organic rawfoodstore!

Its unbelievable what all things they have there:eek: !! EVERYTHING!
So, I got totally in my choices. And I have to look a bit at the money...
So I want to order some dried fruits and some nuts (dried tomatoes without salt and avos are out:(
I want to be able to make some easy recieps like fudgeballs/desserts, easy sweet cakes and easy not sweet-meals(any)

So my question to you:
Wich nuts do you use most for what kind of recieps?(non dehydrator...)
Wich dried fruits are needed the most? (I guess dates as sweeteners?)
Did I forgot anything I definitely should have?
What are the basics I need to make a small varity of reciepes?

Thanks in advance!:)

EDIT:How much of (for example nuts) should I order at once that it makes sense? I mean if I order 200 g cashews I wont come far with that,,? Right..?

Hi Honey!!! (jumping waving smiley guy!! dressed up as Xena!)

lets see... I use (but remember I'm just a newbie!)

Cashews - makes wonderful sour creme stuff and whip creme stuff
almonds - wonderful crusts for pies (or almond milk for smoothies or cereal!)
oh - and they are also excellent when you wrap one in the middle of a fudge ball!!
Macademia nuts - are just awesome to eat! Also excellent wrapped in a fudge ball or chopped and roll your fudge ball in it!
Walnuts - to make fudge balls (be prepared to faint from ecstacy!) This is also used to make the spicy taco meat - Oh so yummy and no dehydrator needed!

Dates - to make fudge balls and anything else you want to sweeten!

I love in my salads and as snacks - pumkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and almonds.

I don't use a lot of dehydrated fruit because we have so much natural fruit here.

As far as how much to get - I'm not sure.

Let's see if you were going to make fudge balls (slightly obsessed with them arent I? !)
It takes:
2 cups of (soaked) Walnuts
2 cups of (soaked dates)
1/2 cup of carob

I find the longer you soak your dates - the smoother the mixture - (or maybe i made some kind of mistake and don't know what exactly I did!)

and I also threw in just a tad more carob ... maybe 1 or 2 tablespoons - it seemed to give it a firmer texture - held the shape of a nice round little ball better.

The second batch I made - I didn't add in the extra carob and although it was delicious - the balls kinda melted into one another! Odd -- :D

Good luck! ;)

:D *ROFL* Xena, you seem to live on fudgeballs.I wonder where you cheated that you got to loose 30lbs:p

So, alright:
Cashews for creamy and buttery stuff
Almondspiecrusts, cakecrusts
All other nutsFUDGEBALLS
Datesto sweeten everything

:D Right like that?
I think then I gonna order a larger amount of dates and almonds, a smaller one of cashews ( expensive stuff) and also s-o-m-e figs, apricots and other nuts coz I have them in some own favourite creations...

ANYTHING ELSE I DEFINITElY NEED?? ANYONE??
