Hi Raw Lovers,
I am putting 2 tablespoons of raw Salba (www.sourcesalba.com) in my smoothie in the morning.
I am using it now for over 3 months and a notice a lot of benefits, as well as my parents who have high cholesterol and diabetes.
The first thing I noticed was an effect in bowel movement, before I went to the washroom only 1 time in 3 days.... now at leased 1 time a day! So, Salba helps me detoxify.
My dad and mom both lost weight with Salba and there C-reactive protein and A1C went down!
I wanted to know if also other people are using it?
and have the same amazing effects as me and my family.
Have the craziest day Ever!

Yes, it's very nutritious. Excellent source of essential fatty acids, especially Omega 3.
Salba, by the way, is a product name for a type of chia seeds.
Best,

Here's info on it:

It's basically a white (non-geo modified) chia seed.

I've never heard of it. THank you for bringing it to my attention though! I wonder if I can buy it at a HFS? Does it taste good?

Well, if it's a chia seed, you're gonna want to add it to something. I don't think any product like this "tastes" good as it. I really think it's meant to be added to a smoothie or something.

I think you really only need to soak it for around 15 minutes for it to start gelling.

Thank you very much for bringing Salba up. I have never heard of it before and it sounds wonderful! I could see my family using it in many meals for added health. It's pretty cheap through Amazon too. Less then $13.00 for a bag. I don't know if my local health store carries it but I might call tomorrow and check :o

This link says:
"Thus, one of the best uses of chia seeds is to convert them into chia gel. To do this you add 1/3 cup of seeds to 2 cups of water, stir well to break up any clumps, and let sit in your refrigerator for about twelve hours.
(It will gel in less than an hour, but the additional soaking increases the nutritional impact of the gel.)"
