From what I have experienced, when I ate less than 100% raw foods, I still had cravings for cooked foods, but now I don't/haven't craved cooked foods at all.

Because I feel a huge difference in how I feel eating 100% vs, say 90% or less. I have more energy, feel less "blocked" in my digestion.
I also have multiple food allergies: dairy, gluten, soy and I cant eat processed sugar so 100% raw is the easiest way of not having something "slip" in my diet, even when I eat out.

Your body will continue making mucus to deal with the cooked foods, I say 100% but there's the odd thing that i have had thats not 100%. I have also had the odd taste of something just to see if it tastes different = sooo what. I still say 100%. 95% is really good but its different for everyone. Just be carefull because if what you do eat thats cooked- if its processed or has chemicals your body could have a bad reaction. Try to keep any cooked food as clean as possible.

Everyone is different. But for ME, personally, I've tried the "partially raw" thing (and I can't even understand how people do the whole percentage thing) - but if it's outright cooked food, I either feel it in the way of a headache or stomach discomfort or I wake up feeling stuffy/mucousy. It doesn't matter if it's "healthy" cooked (steamed, baked, etc.) or crap/junk food - the reaction is the same regardless.
Also, the slightest bit of cooked food sends ME (again, everyone is different and some people are more disciplined or just don't have eating issues) into a downward spiral of wanting MORE cooked food.
Now like Solace, I can't honestly call myself 100% raw in the strictest sense of the word because I do have those questionable foods such as the "raw" (heated in shell) cashews, Nama Shoyu (which is living, but not raw due to the soybeans being cooked - I think), and those other little odds and ends that some argue whether they are truly raw or not. But I never seem to have those cooked issues with THOSE items as I do with shole'nuff cooked foods.

I felt a lot better when I started out eating 2 of 3 of my daily meals raw. Because of this, I started doing days 100% raw. Before long, I started trying to go 100% raw every day. I am still new at this, but I can say that I feel better when I am 100% raw than when I include cooked meals. Especially after making the transition. After going 100% for a bit, a cooked meal brings me down and I have detox symptoms while it clears out of my system. As for 99% vs 100%...that is tough too say. It depends on how you define raw really. Some people are 100% raw, but someone else observing their ingredients or methods may disagree with them about certain ingredients being raw. Some people even consider condiments, like soy sauce, to not count against their percentage. So it is all about being true to yourself really.

99%-100% doesnt seem like a very big difference, but when you dont give your body a single reason to hold back & you break that last cuff... you can finally experience flying free.
There's no such thing s a little shackled. You're either held captive or you arent.
I speak with 8+ yrs experience.

I dabble on not strictly raw stuff like dressings, or a bite of cookie if I wanna suplicate it in a raw recipe...but (!!) I just prefer the "feel" of raw foods. When I have something cooked, it may smell good, but it lacks complexity. Raw food has depth- base note thru top note...it;s the same diff as conventional food vs. organic. Organic jus tastes better...and raw just tastes better than cooked! I really noice this in nuts, and sweets, and crackers.
Sure many of us will have a cooked meal once in awhile...but for me it honestly just falls short in terms of post-meal satisfaction and overall flavor.

for me, I have a ton more energy on 100% raw. After just two days going 100%, my energy levels shoot to the moon.

Because people who eat 100% don't need to find excuses for getting away with eating 99% or less. ;)

For me, I've done "both", and when I've been 100% (110% :D ) it's an amazing health transformation.
This is not to say that increasing the fresh food in a partially cooked diet is of no consequence. It's a LOT healthier than the standard, but a sustained period of time on raw is a whole other matter altogether.
Also, now that celebs and stuff are "doing raw", and it seems to be the only stamp of approval many of the drones in our society go by :D , I'm having an easier time saying, "I only eat fresh, unprocessed food" and saying it proudly.

I'm the same way, and just coming out of a situation like this. But the longer I am 100% raw with not one bite of cooked, the less I crave cooked. But I don't "do" slippery slopes well, at ALL.

There are many reasons to want 100% as a RESULT. But it is certainly the PROCESS - and the setting of YOUR goals (and the achieving of them) that is of paramount importance...don't you think?
-Even those who have been all-raw for many years (like myself) still have goals that we pursue....dietary and otherwise. THAT does not change. So why spend TOO much energy debating whether 5 oranges per day is the best or 4 and 1 cookie? Ha! ha! The important thing is that YOU are in PROCESS to hit YOUR goals. Just my opinion.

For me cooked food works like drugs...
I have (or finally I think I can say HAD:D :p ) Lots of different eating disorders and in the end were completely addicted to eating! I cant controll it at all! And I dont want to torture myself with that anymore actually.
When I eat the least little piece of cooked I fall back RIGHT AWAY into 100% junk. No way to escape... When I am 100% raw I have no cravings and dont even think about food! For a person like me thats a blessing!!
Yes... just like a "clean" drug addict:rolleyes:
Last summer I had repeatedly experiences with the difference of 100% or 90% raw WITHOUT KNOWING IT!! I was raw 100% for several weeks, and then I included some nuts into my diet wich I NOW know WEREN'T RAW!!! Those were only a few... and after eating them a few days latzer I FELL OFF!! EACH TIME!! I felt moody and had BIG problems with cravings for food...(I needed my drugs ;) )And because of I didnt know it was not raw I can say it was not a psychic thing in my head BUT A "MATERIAL" addiction!
