View Full Version : For those who have successfully finished the MasterCleanse
Just a quick question. Just wondering if you gained all your weight back that you lost after the fast was over and you went back to eating an all raw diet? And if you didn't gain it all back, how much did you lose total and how much did you put back on.

i've done 4 master cleanses. lost 20+ pounds each time. i gained ALL the weight back the first three times. this last time (Jan 11- Feb 23), i transitioned to raw. on my 30+ day cleanse, i lost 30 pounds. i have gained back 7-8 (and just recently). i am still raw -- but eating a ton (for some reason).
i do plan to catch this at 7-8 pounds & get rid of those NOW (withoiut gaining more).
i did 3 21-day cleanses & my recent one was 30+ (i say that b/c i had 2 days of food in there).
anyway, metabolism wise -- i recommend 10-day cleanse. 30 is ypugher to 'recover' from.
GOOD LUCK!!!!!

I did a 30 day master cleanse a few months ago, and have not gained any weight since transitioning back to raw. Can't give you the exact numbers since I do not own a scale, but my post MC clothes have gotten baggier.
Have to agree with the previous poster - although I felt great the whole time I was on it, it sure was rough transitioning back to solid foods. ~ Cathy
Thanks for your reply. I was hoping that if I go back to eating raw after this I will at least keep 1/2 of the weight I lose off. The 170's were not kind to me as I reached a plateau that was incredibly difficult to break. So I am so happy to be in the 160's and want to stay there! (at least for awhile - of course the 150's would be better).

Yeah exercise... stretching, yoga, pilates... i just got a DVD of Tai Chi
Breathing exercises are VERY important.
When you come back to solids, I would suggest a lot of greens, maybe start with green smoothies first before chomping on foods? a few nut milks for protein would do ya good too.
green salads w/ olive oil dressing and the like...
it may be easier since the weather is warm. you shouldnt need as many nuts since those will put the weight on like theres no tomorrow. those should be more of a fall/winter food

alot of people dont gain it back if they right, and not alot... remember that your metabolism has slowed some, and you need to get it back up to speed.

Many sites say that people who do the Master Cleanse do gain back the weight because it is literally starvation. You do it not do lose weight but to cleanse. So it is not good for weightloss, there is not much nutrients on lemon water and syrup for 10 plus days. Juicing is much better for long periods.
