I don't see much mention about celery in smoothies. I understand that celery is high in potassium and very good for blood pressure. Can you add to smoothies? Today, I had apple, lemon, ginger, spinach and celery. Was that okay, or are there certain combinations that are not good?

I use celery a lot...in fact, it's one of my favorite blends...seems to go well with everything.
The combo you mentioned is one of my favorites.

What is your recipe for a smoothie with celery?
I had orange juice, a banana and several stalks of celery in ours.

i always put celery in my smoothie now a days. I do orange, banana, celery and spinach! It is delish!!!

I like celery greens especially in smoothies. the rest, I just love to eat it.

One of my favorite JUICES is spinach, 1 apple, 1 large cucumber, 2 stalks celery! YUMMY!
Your smoothie sounds good...I'll give it a try later!

Celery is our all-time favourite for our soup "smoothies". I use a handful of cashews or sunflower seeds, 4 or 5 stalks of celery-chopped, a clove of garlic, a little bit of cayenne, a little bit of miso, juice of half a lemon or a whole if I am feeling like more sour taste that day, I usually add a tsp of tumeric, then fill up the blender to the 4 cup line with warm water. The blender turns this into a warm creamy soup which we just love. I actually crave this stuff.
I also put celery in my beet smoothie which is quite a bit like a borscht.

I love celery. It curbs my salt cravings because it naturally has a lot of sodium. I make smoothies with 1/2 head? (7 stalks) of celery and strawberries). Its so refreshing and good. Its so much better for me to make smoothies out of it because I have a hard time just chomping on celery sticks.

Pretty much! Just celery and strawberries (and a little water) At least while strawberries are in season. :D I will try it with an apple later. For my smoothies, I like to keep it to 2-3 fruits and/or veggies (not including if I add ice, vanilla bean, dates, nut milk, etc).

yum celery! I am told it's like nature's Gatorade, chock full of electrolytes and a great drink for athletes and people who exercise.

We can never learn enough.
Now i love celery but before i could only think to eat it in a salad or by itself.

I always use celery in smoothie combinations. My normal daily one contains lime and celery juice, bananas, spinach and avocado. It is very filling.

I have used celery many times. One time I even used a whole celery as the primary green component. It was great!

Check out Gwena's journal blog. She has a video link on one of her blogs where she makes a smoothie - she's on a 100 day juice feast, and I think on the video (if I remember correctly) she starts out by juicing an entire bunch of celery! :D
