JGex: You mentioned in another post about using dry ice to keep stuff frozen in the cooler. I would like to try this, but is using dry ice dangerous...what's it made of, and can it damage my food?? I have children, could this be dangerous to use with them around?? Thanks.

Hey there. Dry ice is simply CO2, carbon-dioxide. I don't think you should t touch it with your bare hands because they will burn from the cold.
More about it here:

So, I was wondering, from JGex, she had posted that she used it in coolers to keep fruit FROZEN solid, but HOW do you pack it...safely???
Thanks.

You can get it at some gas stations or markets. It is extremely colder than "real ice" and will burn you so you must use gloves.
You can wrap it in paper in your cooler. The nice thing is no melting water. It just evaporates and keeps your food cold.
If I had kids, I probably would not use it, but that's me.
Otherwise, it's a great idea.
