 As I stated over on my first thread, I found a wonderful book about being kosher naturally. It is very excellent. My question is about sprouted cereal. Ezekiel 4:9 carries a wonderful healthy recipe that people have used through the ages. They now have branched out into cereals.

Would it be alright if I ate this cereal with the almond milk that I have left or should I throw it away? I have to make sure that all leaven is out of the house to begin with as Passover is coming closer. I threw the majority of everything out in order to prepare my kitchen for kosher food preparation. This was something that I didn't know what to do with. Any suggestions?

I have been in pain now for a few days. My hands, my back, my legs and my sides cramp real bad. What am I doing wrong? Do you think that I may not be drinking enough water as one of my students suggested? Is this detox?

If anyone can give me some insights, I'll appreciate it. Hey, Vegankristen! I live in Richmond! You know the University where I work! NCAA Division 2 winners! Have you guessed yet? I wish that I had the capability to upload my picture to this site. I have been eating raw since 16 March and I am experiencing a few changes. I would love to start a journal here. Oh, well...

Sincerely,
Bat Tziyon

Ezekiel 4:9 is one of my cheats, although I'm not 100% raw yet. It's baked, unfortunately, but I don't find that a big deal as it's certainly healthier than the other cold cereals I used to eat! So, if I want an occasional bowlful of good ol' E 49, I still have one...well, unless I take the 30-day challenge, and then it'd be "Goodbye, E 49!"

But then, I'm sure you can relate to that as stringent as the dietary laws for Passover are.

As for the pains you're feeling, I'm guessing that it's detox. That can do some peculiar things as one's body tries to get out the toxins from years of eating SAD...even a good, kosher SAD. ;) Although, I do believe that I could rejoice over never eating another bowl of matzo ball soup. Like a cannonball in chicken broth! (Not a favorite of mine, in case you couldn't tell. )

Anyway, lots of water and possibly a day or so of only freshly squeezed juice and water likely would help. I've done a nearly 24-hour fast of that sort when I felt detoxish, as I must take medicine that requires eating solid food, so I can't do a full 24 hours on liquids only.

I thought maybe Ezekiel bread would a compromise I could have (Carol Alt suggested it), but the one day I did try a slice of the bread to commemorate completing my 30 Day Challenge, I had painful abdominal distress. I'm probably more sensitive to wheat than I realized. But if I could tolerate it, I can see myself using it in a pinch, to get over a serious bread craving, or something like that. It's not raw, but I think it's not as bad as regular bread, so I'd guess that the cereal falls in the same category.
