i read in a previous post about blending greens with filtered water and then freezing them, to later pop in a smoothie- i did it and it freed up a LOT of refrigerator space, my question is:
how many green cubes should i use per smoothie?
thanks guys!

Hey there. Start out with one or two and see how that tastes - you can always add more.

Keep track of your measurements once. eg: If you use 3 cups of greens in one smoothie, then blend that 3 cups with part of the water that you would use to make that smoothie. Then note how many cubes it makes. Voila.
Good idea. Especially with summer coming up, you will get a freezie which will be very appetizing.
I also prepare the greens, spin them dry, then freeze them. After they are frozen, I crunch them up. They take up a lot less space in the freezer that way and are ready to scoop out to make some nice cold smoothies.

Thanks for starting this discussion. It’s an interesting idea. Something I might try in the future.

i froze them last night and just transferred them into freezer bags, they look so nice! 1 head of boston lettuce gave me two trays of green cubes, and 1 bunch of kale gave me a little over 2 trays, i plan on doing spinach and romaine next.
what other greens should i try?

the last time i made green ice cubes they turned out great and were so time and space saving, BUT they absorbed some funky freezer odors, so i did a google search and- behold, a solution! check this out, i just ordered some!
