I've got my eye on this juice master jr at target that i keep walking by. I want it BUT I mean how much money am i gonna need here? it takes alot of fruit or veggies for one cup right? or do i add water? now i'm sure this question has been asked before but i couldnt find it. I've been watching Gwena's you tube blogs (shes amazing) and it really has me think about joining in on this. I want to know about YOUR juicing excriences. Tell me what you've gained and lost from this. Recipes would also be great!!! yeah, i could have look all of this up but i would rather talk to real people. Thanks guys!

I'm curious as to why you want to juice rather than make smoothies with a blender which gives you the much needed fiber to keep your bowels regulated. Doesn't take as much fruit/veggies, can last for up to 3 days, still receive more nutrients than you'll get by just eating fruits/veggies.

If you listen to my interview with Victoria Boutenko she explains this I believe. (Raw Food Events section of this forum)

Also, my understanding is the JM Jr. is really not made for heavy-duty juicing. To me that means 1-3 times DAILY.

You can still get all the fiber you need given that your pulp is organic; it can be used. Certain fruits or veggies are acidic when the fiber is separated from them and should be diluted with an equal part of dilluted water.

I used a JM jr for years before I moved on the Jack Lalane Power Juicer and didn't have any problems. I still juice every now and then; I probably will start up with more juicing during the summer - I burned myself out I think about a year ago or so- juiced so much that I got tired of it.

Juicing was conveinient for me when I was always eating on the run. It's also a healthy way to eat of course. I know that certain juice combos like apple/pear/ginger would satisfy me for hours. I made the decision to switch from the jm jr to the power juicer because of the features (wide mouth chute for example). I used to get up in the morning and chop up a load of veggies and fruits and start juice for about an hour or two. It never stopped working for me and still works today. I know that juicing is good for me when I want a burst of energy also. I can feel the difference faster than I can when consuming my fruits and veggies whole. That's my experience.

When we were up in BC, I used an old SunBeam blender. Did the job. Not like my V-M. Had to let it go for a bit longer but it worked well enough. Also have my personal blender in which I just peeled the oranges and dropped them in. Tolerable. I like driving when I travel. Then I can take my citrus juicer AND the blender. :)

Smoothies, as far as I'm concerned are so much easier. Don't have to take the blender apart and if you do, it's only 2-3 part. Way easier to clean imo than a juicer.
