Well last night out of no where I got the calling, to be raw for 30-60 days, and see how I like it after that time is up.

I am wondering how every single day I can keep my motivation up as high as it is today.

What do you guys usually do to keep yourself on track? What do you do when you slip up?

Thanks everyone :D

For me - it's a lifestyle change - not just a diet. I'm seeing results daily - my skin, or body changing so that's helping me stay on track. Plus I just love the food.

the RFT site has given me great support, I ask questions and I never have to worry about being judged because everyone here has been or is going through it -- No worries as we say here in Hawaii - ;)

and if you slip a bit - no big deal - just pick up and keeping going forward! It all a journey after all! :D

I keep it up by simply being cognizant that my old eating habits were killing me, and that raw foods have more nutrition per calorie than cooked food. Nowadays, after switching to high raw, if I eat cooked food I can feel negative effects, so really I do not even want cooked food at all to begin with. Sometimes the smell of certain cooked foods really call to me, pepperoni pizza being the most tempting, but I know if I eat it I am going to feel like crud and undo some of the work I have put in being raw. In hte end, I do not find it very challenging. The most challenging thing I encounter is finding food to eat when dining out. Sometimes I just choose not to eat in those situations. That's better than eating cooked food and not feeling good.

I like to listen to raw food podcasts (like rawkin radio!) and read books and magazines about raw food to keep me inspired. Also, trying a new recipe here and there is a lot of fun and keeps things fresh.

I had a difficult time going 100% raw about 6 or so months ago .. i was pretty new to the entire thing and still learning ... but now I've hit a stride and I'm at day 8 today... and honestly, it just feels really natural and right and I've had no temptations to eat SAD again!

I used to read posts by people saying "I've been 100% raw for X amount of time" and think wow, how in the world can they do that?! and thought I could never do it.. but after a while I just sort of fell into my groove.

if you have a typical 9 to 5 job monday through friday, find some easy recipes that you love to do during the week.. I find having a schedule sorta helps me eat better.. the weekends are the hardest for me to stay raw on, but if I prepare ahead of time I can make it through.

good luck!

oh and if I do slip up, I don't beat myself up about it.. I just start back again and know that I'm taking it one bite at a time!

I hear you. But if it's something that you REALLY want.....why do you need to keep your motivation at all? When you want to eat healthy MORE than you want to keep perhaps tastily and poorly....and destructively (in YOUR mind) then you WILL find a way to do it! I KNOW it! :)

I know what you mean Luna,

Listening to these podcasts and reading tons of books that I check out from the library is what REALLY helps me. I love to learn new information and listening to rawkin radio is fun.
