i was reading a book by natalia rose, and in it she detailed what different percentages of raw looks like-
80-85% raw= half lunch and half dinner are cooked each day
85-90% raw= 6-8 cooked meals per week
90-95% raw= 3-5 cooked meals per week
98% raw= out of 21 meals each week only 1 is cooked
do you guys agree with this?

Depends if you go by calories or number of meals, but if we're counting number of meals it seems more like:
66% raw = half lunch and half dinner cooked
75% raw = 6-8 cooked meals per week
80% raw = 3-5 cooked meals per week
95% raw = 1 cooked meal per week
These aren't exact percentages.. I'm just figuring x cooked meals per 21 meals per week in my head.

For me it's not a whole meal that's cooked, but part of a meal. I make a smoothie with some fresh fruit, some I froze myself, and some frozen fruit pulp I buy at the store. One of them I know isn't raw, others may or may not be. Or I make a salad and include some tofu (which I haven't in a few months). Or I eat out and some of the veggies in the salad may have come from a jar. Not knowing about some of them, I can't figure my percentage, so I just say I'm high raw and leave it at that.

I find it easier to track by percentage of meals, but if I eat anything cooked I keep it low in calories. That is what works for me. I define 70% as two raw meals and one cooked meal, 85% as 2 raw meals and one meal that is half cooked/half raw. A 95% raw week for me consists on one cooked meal the whole week.
It's not scientific, but approximate. Do you want to go count calories to see how raw you are, by weight of the food, by volume, or by simple quantity. Whatever method you choose, just be consistent about it.

I eat a higher % raw than I thought. I feel kind of guilty eating baked chips on occasion and spray salad dressing. I also drink coffee a couple times a week, but I don't feel guilty because it makes me happy. I am so weird that coffee makes me happy, but it does. :p

i think it kind of depends what those "cooked" meals consist of.
id think someone who ate a cooked pizza everynight would be less "raw" than one who ate a bowl of steamed veggies and brown rice. i know neither are raw, but the latter still seems more in line with the raw vegan diet than the former.
but thats why i just say im high-raw..or just "raw" without quantifying a perentage..even if ive been at 100% for over a month. percentages can be tricky, and sometimes daunting..and its hard to be perfect in an imperfect society. imo.

i agree with what you're saying about what kinds of cooked meals they are, in the book the meals consisted of cooked vegetables and sweet potatoes, but it's interesting to get your guys' take on that

Yeah, for me it's hard to tell, as I don't eat meals that are in and of themselves "cooked". Some contain a cooked item or 2.

All the %'s drive me crazy too. I agree that it depends on what kind of cooked meal, but I would just say you are either high, 100% or SAD! Striving for 100% always!
