For the last couple of days my husband says that i'm putting on weight.
My stomach and waistline is so big and it does look like i've gained some, has anyone out there had this experience.
I look good every where else but this, i don't know what is going on with my body.
Please help me.
Beth
I have the same problem. I really don't know what is the cause... I don't consume THAT much fruit so I know it's not that, mostly greens with some nuts and fruit. I have a smoothie for breakfast, a prepared lunch, some dates, prunes or fruit for a snack then usually a salad for dinner.

I don't know how long you both have been raw, but I had the same problem and it finally went away. Changing your diet can cause some unwanted changes such as bloating and gas. I still feel bloated some times when I combine certian foods at a meal. You just figure it out after a while.

It could be a sign that you're not digesting things well
I've been raw (no cheating) since Aug 25, 2006... that's what... 8 months? And I take digestive enzymes. I guess it just takes some people's body longer to get acclimated to digesting raw foods. I've always had digestive problems... that's what brought me to raw!

how do you feel?
try upping your greens to help with digestion.
and make sure to go raw for you, not for your husband.
there is no right and wrong body.

I have always had a problem with difficult constipation.
I get back up easily and i do take laxatives when i do and i take digestive enzymes when i can afford them.
Thanks again for the help and i will also start drinking more green smoothies.
:) How great it is to have friends who can help.

I have been going through a period also of feeling & looking bloated & gained some weight. I started up my green smoothies again, juicing more & I also have been eating just fruit until about 5:00pm. It has already started to help. IMHO I really do believe the Green Smoothies are fabulous for bloating. Good luck!

Water... Water...WATER!!! The more bloaty I'm feeling - if I drink lots more water the 'bloat' and swelling seem to flush out! Cascara Sagrada is excellent to help move the bowels along, if needed! ;) on occassion I have used this herb because if I am not eliminating properly - it feels like toxins are building up and poisoning my body. Prunes were also suggested when I first went raw (26 days ago) because the change in my diet seemed to back me up a bit. Good luck!

I cannot believe I am asking you this but here it goes (my husbands favorite question) Are you exercising? I know.... but it really does help. Also I read somewhere reliable just do not remember where that some people need to let what is in their tummy digest before eating more...if you graze all day it can make your body work harder maybe less efficiently than say giving your body a few hours rest. Just a thought I am not sure if it is true ....and juice ,juice juice....respectfully, MamaP

I heard rebounding is good to get things moving so to speak. I did a banana search on it and there is a lot of information. It is easy to do and has really good health benefits. I have a mini trampoline and I started using it again after reading about it.

I feel for you - I have a sluggish bowel too and I know how uncomfortable it feels.
I worry about you taking laxatives as my understanding is that it leads to laxitive dependency and it means you aren't absorbing vital nutrients.

I know this might sound strange having just said I don't use laxitives, but if things get really bad I give myself an enema using warm water which helps to clean things out. I don't do this regularly, only when absolutely necessary. It takes a bit of getting used to, but I find it very beneficial.
The other thing I did which worked really well was a juice fast combined with the detox herb kit from Blessed Herbs which meant I was going three times every day (sorry if TMI but this meant a lot to me!)
I still have a way to go to get things working regularly - but it is improving.

I use to take enemas every week or two but haven't taken one in a couple of months.
I've slowed up on my exercise because i fell off a stool a couple of weeks ago, i was reaching up on a high shelf and fell on my side and hurt my kidney and shoulder was in pain with my kidney for a couple of days and my shoulder still hurts off and on.
I'm glad my bones are so hard, i fell hard enough to break my shoulder, i starting taking St. John's Wort just in case i damaged my head with the fall and it really helped, the headaches i was getting have gone away.
I am slowly returning to my exercise program.

Enemas are a life saver for me when I get backed up. Afterward you feel so clean and you stomach goes totally flat. I don't do it that often either, only once in a while, but it sure does work!:o
