Hooray! This is a HUGE step for my husband - He has been eating smoothies for breakfast for the past 3 weeks and he says he feels awesome and can't even imagine eating pancakes or waffles for breakfast anymore. He said smoothies are the REAL fast food!! I'm so happy! He said he is also drinking less coffee, has more energy and has gained 5 pounds (a good thing for him!) :)
I'm drinking a green smoothie for dinner for the first time - YUMMIE!

That's AWESOME!! :D It' so much easier when you are doing it together - or at least have a lot of support from your spouse! :D

I accidentally gave up caffeine by drinking smoothies for breakfast...I just didn't even notice that I wasn't drinking any green tea anymore. No withdrawal headaches either. Yay for your hubbie!

Those green smoothies are such a great transitioning meal. I haven't gotten my guy to make them, but he has seriously cut down his meat consumption and actually likes veggie sandwiches better now. I took him to Cilantro Live and he loved it. Enthusiasm is contagious and when they start to feel better they become inspired.

I think Green smoothies are a great ideal meal, not just transitional!
But hey - solarliving, that is great your hubbie cut down on his meat. Please get the movie EATING at www.ravediet.com - IT IS THE BEST! So amazing! The best documentary ever on diet!

Same here. My husband has been drinking a quart of smoothie every morning for 2 weeks and is bypassing his usual breakfast sandwich he'd buy on the road. He is hooked and asks me to make him one every morning which I HAPPILY do while making smoothies for me, my sons, and my baby girl. He took a big salad for lunch today too. Says he won't try green smoothies and will never be 100% but what a good addition to any diet!
