Ok, it's time for a virtual pot luck (inspired by CC!!). Decide what you're bringing and post a pic of it. Here's how you play this game: Go to raw food sites and find a pic of the food you'd like to bring to the party (or take a pic of your own food). To post a pic from a website: 1. right click on the picture and go to "properties", 2. copy the properties link, being sure to get all of it, 3. Go to your post here where you want to the picture to be, click on the little yellow "post pic" icon and paste the link you copied.
Here's what I'm bringing to the potluck: Strawberry Pecan Pie from Michelle's site. Mmmmm!

Mmmm...sounds good ladies, can't wait to try both! :D
I'll bring my raw peach cobbler/pie!
http://naturalfreedomjourney.com/health/rawpeachcobbler.jpg
I can't find any raw food pictures anywhere... so I'll just bring my head of lettuce and munch on it! And I'm can't even get a picture of my lettuce up!
This is why I don't prepare food - it would be a disaster!. I keep it simple.
??I don't see a yellow post pic icon??

Lil...Alissa's got some pics on her site, or just search for a pic of any kind of raw food. Lettuce would be great!! Then right-click on the food, go to properties, copy the address, then in your reply, click the yellow icon that looks like a mountain, paste the address, that's it, your pic will now be in your post. So c'mon! We need your lettuce for the pot luck!

Coooor this is great!
I read about the fantastic pineapple slicer thingie, and thought what could be yummier than fresh fruit... so I will bring my friends the happy pineapples to the potluck...
(I always wanted to be able to go to a pot luck - no such thing here or even in England really!)

I can't make diddily squat - if it's ok with everyone, I'll just bring the fruit basket with all those wonderful Asian delights!!! I think the dh and I will play will some of the simpler recipes in Alissa's book this weekend - come to think of it, I'd better go shopping for some raw honey...
Much love to all!!!

Mmmm fragola, that banana strawberry ice cream torte looks DELICIOUS! Did you make that yourself? I would love to get a recipe for something like that! MJ, I LOVE fruit and without you the pot luck wouldn't be nearly as much fun. Let us know how the uncooking goes this weekend! I thinking making most raw food is so easy and fun, the only problem is I am always full by the time I finish making whatever I am making (from tasting everything again and again). If I am following a recipe I usually do it more or less how it says the first time and after that it gets really fun because I start experimenting and sometimes come up with something even better than the original recipe imo. Have fun and can't wait to eat the fruit you bring!

I'll bring some of that too!!! WHY didn't anyone ever tell me how delicious raw honey is??? :D I had NO idea!!!! It tastes SO much better than the processed version. I actually didn't want to buy the raw because I don't really care for honey, but this stuff - wow! I'll bring the fruit basket, some raw honey and a bunch of spoons!!! This is going to be a great virtual pot luck :)
Love to all,
Melissa

The strawberry-banana ice cream torte is soooo easy!!
The evening before making it, soak some almonds, or hazelnuts if you prefer (maybe 2 cups), and freeze a couple of bananas and some strawberries. The day after you simply blend the nuts with some dried fruits that you like (dates, sultanas, maybe figs) and make the crust, then put in the blender the bananas and the strawberries to make the ice cream. Put the cream on the crust and keep the cake in the freezer until you eat it. Before serving decorate with fresh fruit. Like most of the raw cakes, it is very easy and quick to make, it takes maybe 5 minutes, and it is so pretty!

Sounds awesome, I am definitely trying that one!

Wow cool thanks for the recipe. I am going to try making this tomorrow! When you blend the fruit in the blender do you have to add any liquid to make it blend? I have a food processor with a blender attachment that is fairly powerful though it is no vita-mix. Do you think it could handle the job? Would the s blade food processor work better?

Yeah, raw honey is great! I'm anxious to try Alissa recipe for honey/nuts in the dehydrator. I'm afraid they'd be too good.

I don't use honey (I'm Vegan) and so I was wondering how y'all feel about Agave Nectar. I LOVE it! It is not only creature-free, it does not impact insulin levels unfavorably either!

Hey CC I actually just got some Agave nectar a few hours ago and I love it! I only wish I could buy it at the store here or somewhere locally. Do you know if there is a way to make raw maple syrup? I talked to a guy at the market who makes maple syrup who seemed to think it was impossible to make raw maple syrup but I think I have seen it for sale on a raw food website once.

Ciao Analeah,
I also have a food processor with a blender attachment and the s blade, and it works great. You don't have to add any liquid, make sure you cut the bananas into pieces before freezing so the process will be easier for your blender. Be patient and process the mixture until it appears as an awesome ball of fluffy ice cream! if you are not vegan, I think that some raw honey would be very tasty in this recipe!

Mmmm, that looks delicious Helen! Please do bring it to the potluck :D Hey Fragola thanks for the info about the ice cream. I have some bananas in the freezer and will try making some ice cream with them tomorrow. I also made a mixture of almond, cashew, cacao, banana and dates which I have put in the freezer in an attempt to make an ice cream or gelato of some kind. I'll post tomorrow when I try it out but hopefully it won't come out too bad hehe.
