hey guys, i'm drinking my first green smoothie right now.... it's not bad, i think the only reason i can vaguely taste the greens is because i ran out of bananas :( , but other than that it tastes really refreshing, like strawberries!
heres what i used:
juice from 2 oranges
lots of frozen strawberries
a squirt or 2 of agave nectar
2 or 3 leaves of green leaf lettuce

Bet if you added 1 or 2 nanas you wouldnt taste the greens. In my smoothies I put a couple heads of Kale, handfuls of spinach, anything green tons tons tons. And if I add nanas the taste leaves...

My green smoothies usually have 2 or 3 handfuls of greens, and about 3 fruit. I typically use a banana, apple and pear, but 2 bananas would be a grat and sweet way to ensure it is not too "green"!:)

I do not like smoothies, but I juiced some pineapple, orange, and roamine lettuce and that was good. It was not quite green in color, more of a dark greenish gold. I am going to try kale next or maybe even broccoli. Someone posted that orange/banana was a good combination.

Just a lil tip...

The more greens you use, The sweeter you should make it if you cant stomach the taste of all them greens. Again Nana's are great. The greens makes sure the sugars dont spike ya. Your getting a great healing amount the more greens you put in.... I have been out of Nanas and used a lot of greens, and used 2 medium sized mangos. It was great.

Oh, pooh mangos were just on sale and I didn't buy any because I did not know what to do with them. I just bought some pineapples on sale are you ready for this... one dollar each! For fresh pineapple! :D I am making a green smoothie/juice for a 10 am snack. I am trying to get back to a regular eating pattern, as in not eating all day long.

On many of the threads, I notice that Green Smoothies are suggested for many problems - suggested to drink throughout the day. Do you all have blenders at work? How do you do this if you are not home? Also, we are not talking about juicing, but an actual smoothie made in a blender with the whole fruits and greens? Can you mix greens with bananas? Are there any greens that don't mix well with bananas???? In the morning, I sometimes make a smoothie with banana, apple and lemon. Can I add greens to that???

i don't work so i can't answer the first question, but i do make sure to time my smoothies so i have one before my college classes

right- we are NOT talking about juicing, only blending

yes yes yes! mix greens with bananas, most people do this everytime they have a smoothie, it really cuts out the taste of the greens

nope- all greens mix with bananas, and generally the bananas help you get greens in your system by masking their flavor

yes- whatever smoothie blend you make now add greens, the more the better

I have not tried this, but I know that some people make up a lot of green smoothie and put it in containers to drink later. This would be one way to have them at work.

Hey...

Another tip , Every time I make a smoothie I always always always add whole lemon inside of it. With the skin ( extra nutrients-Vitamix blends its so well you dont get any chunks- if you dont have a vita, just lemon juice will be fine) This really helps the smoothie stay fresher longer. I always do this so I dont have to quickly drink it all down, specially since I make big ol smoothies.
