Last week I read Alissa's book and watched her DVD. It was very helpful, inspiring, and energizing. So I broke out the dehydrator (for only the third time) and made carrot pecan burgers and flax seed crackers. As you all know, everything always go perfectly in DVD land, but not so in actual life. It felt like an episode of the old Lucille Ball Show, "Lucy Goes Raw". The food processor wouldn't work, and then mixture leaked out of the bottom, the cracker mixture would not spread, the burgers were too runny, wa, wa, wa, and on it went. I kept thinking, "It didn't look like this when Alissa did it." I finally got it all in the dehydrator and was convinced that in the morning it would all be inedible. But a miracle happened....it was great!

Love and kisses,

I LOOOVE LUCY!! :D and yes I do know the feeling! After soaking flax seeds for the first time I panicked when I saw exactly HOW GOOPY and slimy it was!! I sent out an immediate SOS on the recipe section of this web site because I thought I had done something horribly wrong! I got several reassurances - that it was all okay!! :p And since everything was so delicious - I now call myself 'THE DEHYDRATOR QUEEN!'... of course that's only in my world! ;)
