Be sure that you picked to measure your goal in steps, then they will mail you a pedometer so long as supplies last.

Did you picka team in your state or just go solo?

There are lots of other cool things on the site too, like electronic mothers day cards, E health reminders etc...

just figured I'd register and get my tax dollar worth.

So Delightedly Raw
04-20-2007, 09:08 PM
Definitely!

I feel sooooo good on 100% raw.

My definition of starting simply is green smoothies with enough fruit to disguise the taste of the greens. It's so easy and so healthy. Just make them slightly different every time, so they stay interesting. I got the idea from Victoria Boutenko's book, Green for Life. (If you are adding a lot of fat you might want to use fruit that isn't overly sweet, like ripe bananas.....This works for me. Got the latter idea from Frederic Patenaude online.)

Just thought I'd update. Day 1 being raw (woohoo I made it, :D )

For breakfast, an apple and an orange
Snack, blueberry & banana smoothie
Lunch, big salad with Alissa's honey mustard dressing and sprouted lentils
Snack, Big slice of Ann Wigmore's banana cream pie (gave me a little bellyache)
Dinner, Salad with avocado, onions, tomatoes, and a little salsa.

I'm going to make some flax crackers tonight so hopefully they'll be ready tomorrow. I need more salty and savory things to eat.

So, I think I did good today. Here's to another wonderful raw day tomorrow!!

Hi folks...

Count me in to join you for the May challenge, though I will be starting before that! After being 100% raw for 3 months last summer, then falling off the path only to gain all the weight I lost being raw back, I need the accountability of some friends here!

The group support really helped me last time, and was a crucial part of my success last summer.

I'm ready to make a serious commitment to my health - I have to do this!

I'm looking forward to getting back on track and letting go of the weight and the junk that has held me back for so long - let's look forward to encouraging each other!

I have not had a single day entirely raw. I don't doubt that I can do this challenge, but I do think there will be some bumps in the road!

I will do myself the favor of being prepared for this. I am looking forward to getting that rawesome feeling I've heard so much about! Conversely, not looking forward to the detox I've heard so much about. :o

Hi, I'm new here. :)

I've been eating vegetarian for a few years now, but as you may know, it's still possible for a vegetarian to eat bad food. Since January I've started to dabble with raw and now looks like a good time to go 100%.

Although I just made a list of all the "bad" food from the last few months that I no longer can eat -- and it's a long list. :D

Anyway, just have to lose a few bad habits and gain some good new ones.

This looks like a great place!

I really want to do 100%. I tried and failed. I cant seem to find much that i like. I tried quite a few recipes from Alissas book and was not fond of them. I am sure the way she makes them, they are great but me in my "greeness" cant seem to make them where they taste good. I am not a picky eater but alot of the recipes I try I cant even stomach them. I feel frustrated because I so badly want to do this and I am wasting money making these and not liking them. I need a variety of food and since I am starting out I want to make sure I am eating enough for my body to adjust. Any advice for me?

Count me in. I am already on day 5 of 100%, so I will just continue on into May. It will be nice to have lots of support. The longest I have been 100% raw was 38 days so I am wanting to surpass that number. I have been doing raw on and off for 5 years and I am hoping this will be the year I stay on.

Question though...Am I supposed to do anything other that just state my intention?

This will be my 3rd attempt at all raw for a month, hopefully this time I can make it through. Like everyone else in this thread, I'm gearing up for tomorrow. I've been 100% raw for about 6 days with one slip: I had brown rice (about 3 tbs) Saturday night and I paid for it. I had the worst stomach ache and nausea/vomiting the next morning. Never again!

I will go to my local produce store tonight and get a few coconuts and then off to my weekly trip (sometimes 2x week) to the farmers market after work tomorrow.

Hi all -- I'm so ready for this new month! I did well on the April Challenge -- better than ever before, but still didn't make it the whole month all raw. So I'm going for it again!

I just have a suggestion for the check-in -- I was once in a giant check-in like this before and they had a method of always saying something to the person who just wrote before you. We may not have enough time to read everyone's posts or respond to very many of them (and you may want to or have time to respond to more), but this way, everyone will feel a part of the big group.

So if that works for everyone, I think it would be great. I'll start by saying . . .

Barose -- That's really great that you've done so well these past 6 days! Young Coconuts are definitely one of my favorites too. Thanks for the reminder. I'll go cut into one right now!

I agree! Great idea!

Eight hours and 44 minutes left until May Day! WooHoo! I've now made it to 9 days raw, looking forward to making all of May raw as well!

That is a great idea Renee, and Elizabeth, 29 pounds in a month is amazing! Congratulations!

I too am ready for tomorrow...just keep on keeping on...I'm on day 18 of my raw journey, and doing well, but definately need to make time to learn some more recipes.

I am so suprised to hear about people's experience with trying something cooked after being raw for a while...people getting really sick, just from something small. WOW! that amazes me. A little scary, but, also, good motivation to keep me raw. I just wonder how I will introduce the raw concept to my patients. Most of them will NOT even consider it. I've had a hard time even getting patients to consider making green smoothies for themselves. Wow. I have my work cut out for me. I am going to wait until I reach my own goals, though, so people have something to judge by.

May Goals:

Stay raw, learn new recipes, get a beach body, do a lymph cleanse to help clear up my skin such that no make-up is needed, and reduce cellulite.

4/13/07 - 135.5 lbs
4/30/07 - 128.5 lbs

5/31/07 - 120.0 lbs.

Height: 5'5"

love and light to you all...

I'm NOT ready. I think I'm just going to continue focusing on veggies and fruit, as much raw as I can, but not with the 100% raw focus. I've lost nearly 5lbs this past week, so I'm happy with that. Maybe June I'll be more up for 100% raw.

I AM back off of sodas, though, drinking herbal teas with agave nectar. I've slept ALOT in this past week too.

Beth -- I think that sounds like a great plan. One step (or a few) steps at a time.

I forgot to list my goals for May. My main focus is going to be to juice and have green smoothies every day. My only challenge may be when we travel for Memorial Day weekend, but I can always freeze up some smoothies to take with me in a cooler (the juice won't be as fresh, but I'll do what I can).

Dr. Dawn -- I don't get sick when I eat some cooked foods, but others instantly (within 1/2 hour) bring my old health problems back right away (allergies, asthma, pelvic floor problems). It's always a "Now why did I do this?" moment

Half way through day 3 of 100% raw and it's soooooooooooooooo hard!!! I am having allregy symptoms and fatigue. This is hard when I have to cook for 3 kids and hubby (vegan). On top of that I am teaching my 4th grader lowest term fractions today..........ugh!!! Okay, just had to vent to my peeps. I know you guys will get me. Out of my system now. I guess I will go prepare dinner for the family and me. It's homemade garlic bread and pasta with tomatoe and basil sauce for them. For me, another big salad!

I like starting at night;) allows me to wake up in the AM feeling as if I've already accomplished 7-8 hours of RAW:D

Desperately needing that Senna TEA now, but errr huh I forgot my stove top doesn't work, so no hot water, hmmmm:confused:

Should be getting CSA's in @ 2weeks... Oh so exciting:D

I've been lurking for a while, and I'm back. For real this time. I've been eating crap since I went off raw on Feb 18th (I made it 17 days! Yay for me!), and it's time to get my health back in order. Tonight, I'm going to clean out my kitchen, and I'm going to stock it with fresh fruits and veggies. This time, I'm going to not focus on all the raw recipes, but just make sure whatever I am eating is raw. Plus, my boyfriend did ALL of my dishes this morning, so I don't even have any dirty pots and pans to remind me of eating SAD. Weee.

Speaking of getting my health in order, often on this site we talk about how YOU are in charge of your own decisions. What you eat, what you wear, what you watch/listen to/focus on is all up to you. I've been re-inspired to remember that by one of my new favorite songs. It's called Steer, and it's by Missy Higgins. She's awesome, and she's only 22 (just like me!). You can hear it here (http://www.missyhiggins.com).

The song basically says that you don't have to be anyone's puppet, and you are in charge of yourself. The video is pretty neat, too. She's a human crash-test dummy in it. Yeah. Go get inspired.

lifeAGift: I'm so jealous you're getting your CSAs already. I'm not sure when mine will show up. We had a freeze in mid-April, so who knows. Boo. Farmer's markets have started, though.

Now that I've written a novel, it is time for me to prepare for tomorrow.

Oh! And this month is starting out great for me. On the 3rd, I'm going to hear Matt Monarch and Angela Stokes speak. On the 5th, I'm going to a Raw potluck. Plus, at the potluck, we are getting to try food from a raw and vegan restaurant coming to KC. Yay.

I'll be blogging (or trying to blog) my experience this month, but I am not setting any goals other than staying raw all month. I'm not going to place any expectations on raw.

Hey guys. I don't really have any goals for May other than to stay raw. I do know I will have 1 meal that is not. I am taking my mom to vegas for mother's day and we are going to a fancy restaurant...I plan on enjoying a cooked vegan dinner. But other than that I'm trying for 100% again. I would love to lose 2lbs to get down to 125, but my body is on it's own schedule as far as weight loss goes.

I too have a couple cool things coming up. I'm going to see David Wolfe speak about the powers of raw chocolate (with a chocolate "extravaganza" to follow) and also taking a dessert making class through my local raw restaurant. Those oughta keep me inspired! :p

Beanmonkee: I'm jealous you get to see Angela Stokes. I'll be wanting full details. :D

VP - let us know how the chocolate seminar is! David was in Toronto last month doing that one and i missed it...I really wanted to go!!

Only a few more hours till May! For me the first few days will be a snap as I am on the master cleanse at least until the 10th..and let me tell ya, today was NOT easy. But off to watch 24 and then to bed. Fasting is a snap when you're sleeping!

Happy MAY DAY!

Damzfly, I am very encouraged by seeing you commit to the MC. I don't know if that is ever something that I would do, at least not at this point in my life. Good luck! You can do it :)

Not to sound naive, and I might laugh at the answer (and myself a little) later, but what are CSA's?

I am so excited, I feel like we should declare today the first day of May so we can be in the May challenge now! April was great for me, though not completely raw, so I am totally looking forward to one whole month raw!

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It's kind of like going to a farmer's market, but not quite. A group of local farms -- hopefully sustainable and organic -- get together and offer their fruits and veggies and, in some cases, herbs to people who pay them whatever their fee is for the growing season. That was a bad explanation.

Basically, I pay a farm alliance every month and they grow fruits and veggies for me. I get a bag every week (or month? I'm not sure how mine works) from mid-May through August or September. So, I'm supporting my local growers, and I'm getting affordable produce at the same time. Woo hoo.

I feel even better because I fasted yesterday on water and the MC lemonade and didn't watch t.v. at all. Everyone is talking about goals. What are mine? Wonderful May. summer is here or it sure looks and feels like it. I have things planted in my garden and cannot wait for them to come up. The greens have been in for a couple of weeks and r now tiny plants.:D
I started drinking green smoothies and eating raw things like celery, carrots, radishes and some fruit last week. Not as much fruit as i had been and NO NUTS. I have been working outdoors doing heavy work like shoveling and a lot of bending. I lost an average of 1# daily. It comes out to that but really did not lose a # a day. Some days i did not lose and some i lost more.A total of 7#s is off me. My psoriasis is getting better and that was the reason i decided to go green. :D The day my psoriasis is cleared up u will see many smiley faces here.
I am committed to this way of eating. So far is not hard for me. I made Sad meals for my family and I eat Raw. It is not always easy but haveing a reason for it like being healthy and healing my body makes it easier than one would think. I also eat my raw veggies while making their food. Helps a lot.
Lets all do it this month. No slip ups. I know it is hard. thing is if u do slip get right back to the Raw way.
Have a happy May all.

Good Morning Everyone~! Happy May Day!!

I have a goal this month of eating more greens and veggies....stay low-gly to help with candida, and not too many nuts either, just enough to get my essential fatty acids. (too many nuts are causing me not to loose weight...)

I would like advice on getting MORE greens without the fruit in smoothies. Any suggestions??

Hope everyone has a RAWSOME day!

Hello all,

I am a newbie here, been lurking off and on. I know within my core that eating raw with all its bountiful enzymes is the ultimate health choice. April 27th I made the personal commitment to eat raw, eat life. I even shaved my head as a symbolic gesture of my commitment, considering that for 52 years of my life I've never had my hair shorter then shoulder length that’s huge.

I'm looking forward to getting to know each one of you. We are not doing this just for ourselves, although that is primary, we are also doing this for anyone who watches us and sees that life is in the enzymes.

Well, I ordered wheat berries, buckwheat, sunflower to grow wheatgrass and sprouts, also some arugula seeds and some other mixes. Can't wait for them to get here. I also want to make some rejuvelac. I did have enough wheat berries on hand to start one tray of wheatgrass last week and that is outside sunning and turning green. Tomorrow I should be able to do some wheatgrass shots. I also started mungbean sprouts. Those are so good. I went grocery shopping last night and stocked up on greens and fruits. So, I am set.

I would have to say my starting weight was 330 last week, because my scale only registers to 330 and then it went 'err' and blacked out! Not good, I know, but this morning it registed 328.5. So, May 1st starting weight 328.5
That something like a transition last week started something. YEA!

I tried "LifeAGift's" idea for a green shake....this is what I used:
5 cups of spinach
1 cup (approximate) dist. water

blend all that up, then add:
1 tsp barleymax (grass powder)
1 tsp maca
2 TBS carob powder from Alissa
1 TBS coconut oil
1 TBS raw dark agave
Blend again
then I added about a cup of chopped ice from my freezer

Cold, and yummy...and VERY green

Thanks LifeAGift!! I never would have tried that without someone suggesting it. I know it would have been just as good with greens and carob...but I had the other powders (barleymax, and maca) and thought I would add them for some extra "umph"

It is sooooo hard at times, but plug through it and you'll be glad you did. I cook for all my kids and dh too and sometimes wish I could be a part of what they're eating. But dinner time isn't usually the hardest for me. (I tend to want their snacks instead  ) Hope you can hang in there. Make yourself your favorite raw food at dinnertime if that helps. I like to drink my favorite smoothies when we're all eating together -- or just eat some really yummy fruit.

Sweetpepper -- Sounds like you're on your way down that scale. Good for you! Do you do yoga? Saw your salutation and just wondered. I love it!

As for me, I bought a ton of produce last night. Feel so stocked and happy to be raw.

So far today, a pink lady apple, a few strawberries and a bowl of raspberries. Yum! I'm soaking dates to make some mango pie in a bit. Can you say "heaven?" :)

Hello Everyone and Happy May Day. It's Day 1 and I am 100% raw. What a perfect day to start. I have been working out hard with my personal trainer. I'm a little tired and sore today, however, I am beginning to see a difference in my body already. I hope that I can keep this up. I haven't always been good about keeping up an exercise routine. I have gained a pound today. It may be because of my muscles being so sore. I hope that's the reason, because I've been in plateau for two months.

So far today I haven't eaten very much, but I haven't been too terribly hungry either. I'm going to the grocery store (never made it last night) later on, so I'll probably make up for my lack of eating in the evening.

I've had:
~1.5 c. red grapes
1 big apple
~3/4 c. dried cranberries

I have some amazing salad greens from the farmer's market at home waiting for me. I plan on having them with an avacado. I'm also going to buy some raw nut butter to eat with my celery and baby carrots. Mmmm, I'm making myself hungry.

Interesting that several people above mention not being very hungry. I've been 100% raw for the past few days and I started to notice the same thing. I don't really need to eat a lot, except in the morning (especially after running). My stomach says I'm done but it feels like I hardly ate a thing. I like the "lightness" of this way of eating. So May is off to a good start. :D

I made a big bowl of fruit but I'm not hungry enough to eat it, so instead I'm going to make me some "ice cream" to snack on. Bananas, coconut milk, cinnamon and cashew butter. Yum! :)

Have a good first day, everyone!

Great to be here.....nice group of support.....thank you all for letting me participate.

Fresh apple and 1 ounce dried banana chips.

Vegetable flax seed crackers with 2 tabs almond butter.

Green juice with pH drops and hemp protein, 20 ounces.

½ cup of my Zesty Pecan Mix that I’ve submitted to the “Raw Food Talk Recipe Book” and including below for those who like a tangy zippy treat. I’m stuffed.

For dinner a 6 cup salad (3 types lettuce, peppers, cabbage, tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, onion) with an avocado dressing.

I exercised for 30 minutes on the elliptical …..1.79 miles.

Beginning weight for this May challenge: 310

Lost 5 pounds in the last four days eating raw……might not seem a lot considering how far I need to go but I have literally eaten 1000/1200 calories a day for several months and not lost a pound in the past.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Zesty Pecan Mix
Eating this mix will take some control not to overeat, its that good and very easy to make.

2 cups Pecans (soaked over night then dried a couple of hours in a dehydrator)
2 cups of dried cranberries
2 tablespoons of raw honey
2 tablespoons of Braggs Amino Acids
Zest from 2 oranges
1 tablespoon of freshly ground pepper

Add honey, Braggs, pepper, and orange zest in a bowl and stir. Add Pecans and cranberries making sure that each pecan is coated with the honey mixture. Put mixture into a dehydrator until desired consistency, I put mine in for 4 hours. Makes 8 one half cup servings.

Per 1/2 cup serving:

341 Calories
42 grams Fat
40 grams Carbohydrates
6.92 grams protein
89 mg Sodium
1.36 mg Manganese (76% RDA)
2.6 mg Iron (32% RDA)
356 mg copper (40% RDA)
Many more vitamins and minerals. Send me a message if you wish to know any of the others. Manganese, Iron and Copper have the highest percentages.

Created by The Raw Alchemist...do enjoy.

I have been having some "empty" feelings...the type i would normally respond to by eating cooked food. I am not really hungry, just looking for some thing..lol..and in the past i would look in food. I came home for a bit befre I go to work..and was glad that my pear was ripe enough to eat. It hit the spot and i feel better...:D

altogether, today I had:

a smoothie with coconut water, banana and raw honey or maple syrup, i forget which..
cocoa almond milk with raw honey
a pear
a few walnutsI have a raw sweet potato casserole in the dehydrator to have later if I feel like it...or tomorrow. I like having something ready for when I come home, it helps me stay clear of other food.:o plus, the apt. smells so nice when I come in...hehehhe...like Christmas with the cinnamon and all.....

have a good evening you all......:D

Breakfast
Green smoothie (so much energy!)

Lunch
Salad (baby romaine, tomatoes, avocado, pepper, and home made dressing)
Fruit salad (strawberries, kiwi, pineapple)

Dinner
HUGE Salad (same as above)

Snacks
A bunch of fruit
Small handful of raw cashews

I'm a little tired, but have the urge to run for whatever reason. I like eating simple, but I'd like to try a few easy recipies. The semester is over next week so then I'll be home so I can use the dehydrator and juicer. I can't forget the juicer next semester!

Hey all! Happy May Day! Hope you all had a wonderful raw day!

Rawchicky, you did eat a lot of food today! But at least you are filling your body with healthy food that is nourishing for you :)

My day was raw, but not necessarily all wonderful. I have been feeling really moody and depressed all day, and it's all thanks to the forthcoming event that I like to call my special friend. Grrrrr...... On top of that, the kids that I work with were having an "I don't want to listen to the adults here" kind of day, so that was 'fun.' Don't get me wrong, I love the kids I work with, I just with they would listen and follow the rules.

For breakfast I had a banana and some strawberries, lunch was half of the red cabbage, regular cabbage, romaine and onion salad I made and some carrots, mid afternoon I finished the salad and supper a tangerine and some kale cilantro romaine mix.

Hope everyone is doing swimmingly :D Congratulations on day 1!

Hi all! I hope everyone is doing well or at least better today. Vegan Princess, I hope you feel better. :-) What a great day today is...this week is. I can feel it. I'm finding that I've been eating my largest meal in the morning before 10 AM then I don't eat much or anything after I leave work, which is around 2:30 PM. It works for me. I def. sleep better.

I read a lot of the posts and I really am sending some positive vibes out to the people that are experiencing detox symptoms and other mood challenges. Hang in there! When I first started eating raw I never felt anything close to an energy surge/or bliss until about 2 1/2 mos. into the lifestyle. I was truly beginning to wonder, uh...what gives and just when I was things changed! Anyway, ya'll have a wonderful day. :)

So far today I've had: 1 banana, some pineapple and a huge salad...maaaaan, that salad was SO good! Thank goodness for veggies and fruit....*bowing.

Tito -- Glad you're here. Sometimes it's TOUGH to get going after a few days of bad food choices.

LavendarJ -- Go to the store and get some food! It's so much easier to eat raw when you have lots to choose from. My kitchen's so stocked right now -- feels great!

I had a great raw day yesterday. Didn't get to my goal of juicing and making a green smoothie, but I stayed all raw and will juice this morning to get me going. It's like I have a fear of having to wash that juicer, which is just plain silly because it's easy to do if I rinse it right away. But that's why this is a goal of mine -- I've been slacking on it and I know my raw success (and getting enough greens) depends on it.

Hello everyone! :)

Well, yesterday went great - didn't post yesterday because I got busy with the kids and forgot! Didn't hurt that I had already started on April 22, so I didn't have to deal with the nasty detox of starting cold like I did last summer when I started raw (I had my detox last week! BLECCHH!). I'm sure more detox is coming at some point, but at least for now it's smooth sailing!

I wasn't very hungry yesterday...

smoothie with orange, banana, mixed frozen berries, goji berries, bee pollen, coconut butter, agave nectar

huge Caesar salad

rest of the BBQ "chicken" fingers (StarFire, these are good and quite tasty, but they do not hold their shape well at all - I've made them a few times now and they always come out this way. Don't expect them to be able to pick them up to dip in honey mustard sauce... they fall apart. I usually just scoop a little of the mix on to a romaine leaf and eat it that way... mmmm!)

I'm very happy that my son who has autism is now drinking a small smoothie every day, as long as it's berry! He doesn't care for mango for some reason. I haven't tried to add veggies to the smoothies yet; just trying to get him used to drinking one every day, then I'll fiddle with it to add more nutrients.

My goals for the May Challenge are to:

- meditate every day for a minimum of two 5-10 sessions
- do some form of exercise every day, whether it is going to the gym (which I can rarely do due to my son's in-home autism program and other therapy appointments)
- start keeping a personal journal (separate from this blog)

Hope everyone had a great first day of the challenge! On to success! :D

Way to go, everyone!

So far, so good for me. I just feel better about myself when I'm eating raw -- even if it's only a day and a half so far.

I finished up the day yesterday with a big salad with avacados, tomatoes, and local farmer's market greens (with beautiful flowers). I got hungry around 9, so I made myself a green smoothie with banana, mango, and spinach. Mmmmm. Love me some green smoothie.

I also made some flax crackers last night. They didn't turn out as crispy as I wanted, but they are still delicious.

Today, I've been eating pretty simply. Last time I went raw, I went buck-nutty with raw gourmet recipes, and didn't like half of them. Now, I'm just sticking with what I like. So far, I've eaten:
an orange
two bananas (one in the AM, one for a PM snack)
a big bowl of salad -- like the one last night, but with raw sweet corn in it, too. I had never had raw corn, and it's delightful.
an apple lara bar (not my favorite, but I got a mixed box)

For dinner, I plan on making a taco salad sort of thing. I'm going to make Rawkinlocks' taco "meat" with sunflower seeds, and I'm going to eat it with shredded lettuce, tomato, and avacado. I might make some guac to eat with my flax crackers.

I'm glad to see everyone is doing well still.

Hi everyone

I'm new here and fairly new to the Raw Food scene. I am finishing a 20 day Master Cleanse tomorrow and have three days of fresh O.J. to do. I then plan to do 10 days of green smoothies, after which I would like to join you in the raw challenge for the rest of the month... if that's ok. I know I will need support to stay on track when I actually start eating.

I am trying to rid myself of 65 lbs. Unfortunately, The Raw Boot Camp's program is full til July. They referred me here.Their program says to eat very basic, low fat.. low G.I. raw foods... consisting of raw fruit and vege. with occassional seeds... no oil..no avocado.. no salt.. limited to 1-2 bananas a day.. limited nuts..to much fat. And of course, 1 hour of exercise per day. So for 1 month I am going to commit to that on my own .... with some support and words of wisdom, I know I can do this.

Hope to read some responses

During my detox phase, I didn't workout much, but I did keep up with Hatha Yoga. My whole life, I was not able to touch my toes. After just a couple of week on raw, I can touch my toes like I never have before. I am so much more flexible.

Also, with strength training, I was able to do 2x the number of push ups and my weight routines. After doing almost nothing for two week, I cant believe I've gotten stronger!

Today was good, especially since i ate out TWICE! We have some people in at work form out of town, so we ahve been taking them out to lunch. I'll probably eat out again tomorrow for lunch.:( The place we went to today had a really cool Mediterranean Salad that was a whole bunch of chopped fresh veggies marinated in an olive oil/lemon juice dressing. It was really good.

For dinner I took the family out to the usual Wednesday night kids eat free at the BBQ place. I had skipped ordering the salad bar there the last couple times, but they changed the rules so only 1 kid eats free per adult ordering food. So I ordered the dang salad bar. I don't know why, paying for the kids meal would have been cheaper! I made a big salad and it wasn't bad really.

Breakfast: Fruit Smoothie
Lunch: Mediterranean Salad and a banana
Dinner: Big old salad from salad bar

Received some distressing news and spent half the day crying but stayed raw. I have had a headache all of this day, even before the news, so thinking its a bit of a healing crisis and I am totally grateful for it as it means I'm detoxing. There are some things that happen I have no control over and what I eat for better or for worse cant change that fact...might as well eat what's good for me and know some things I do have control over.

2 oranges
Vegetable flax seed crackers with 2 tabs almond butter.
Green juice with pH drops and hemp protein,
6 cups salad (3 types lettuce, peppers, cabbage, tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, onion) 1/4 cup of pine nuts topped with honey mustard dressing.

I didn't exercise today, was planning on it even with the headache but just couldn't drag myself to do it after the news. Sometimes I am so hard on myself, so black or white, all or nothing that I lose my perspective about what the goal is. The goal is about health and knowing your body....sometimes that means being gentle and patient with yourself.

The Raw Alchemist
05-02-2007, 11:39 PM
Becky if you ate cooked food even vegetarian you can still have a healing crisis as your body tries to rid itself of toxic build up. Sounds silly but I think its great...in with the good and out with the bad. Try drinking more fluid or exercising to increase oxygen flow to help remove the toxins faster.

Hey there folks...

I thought I could skate out of detox.... AHAHAHAHAHAHAH! A bit of a headache today, along with nausea and dia-poo-poo... (more than you wanted to know, I'm sure!) Don't know if it was a bad batch of lettuce or something? Fasted all morning on water and herb tea and am fine now, but that was weird!

My weight hasn't budged since Sunday, which always gets me hyper... I worry sometimes about the amount of fat and nuts... Alissa says in her book not to worry, but I don't want anything to slow my weight loss down! I don't gorge on nuts or avocados, but I do like my Caesar salad every day with the pine nut dressing, so I hope I'm not getting too much fat! It could be that I am not drinking enough water or something??? Maybe I should just not get on the scale every day... hard habit to break! Any thoughts, friends?

I got my Sun Organic nuts order today... in the box along with my coveted nuts, sundried tomatoes and dulse were the small package of chia seed I ordered. Yes, it's the same seeds for "Chia Pets" if you remember those, but they are supposed to be really good for you. (Not just kitty grass! :) )

So, I tried chia seed for the first time today... it's heralded as an Aztec superfood that is better for you than flax. You are supposed to soak 1-3 teaspoons in water and drink the gel. It looks like little frog eggs when it swells up and is kind of like swallowing little blobs of gelatin. (If you have food texture issues, you might not be able to handle that...) It is supposed to aid weight loss as it absorbs about 7 times it's weight in water, so it fills your stomach with fiber. I am going to try it in a smoothie tomorrow morning, because I don't think I want to drink a glass of goo every morning plain, even if it is good for me!

Today, fairly light eating because of my tummy troubles...

2 cups of chamomile tea with honey

big Caesar salad (my fav!)

1/2 c. of guacamole (with lots of tomato, onions, cilantro, jalapenos) with 3 stalks of celery for dipping

1 glass of chia goo!

I also ordered some T-Tapp exercise DVD's to do at home today - if I can't leave the house because of my son's therapy, I will do it at home!

Raw Alchemist - hang in there... sorry to hear about your bad news!

beanmonkee - Tacos?! Can you please tell me what Rawkinlocks' taco meat recipe is? I've got carnivores in my house to convert! Thanks! :)

We are all doing awesome - detox will pass... really! :D

Mary I hope your diarrhea cha cha cha and stomach trouble has stopped and you feel better. :p I wouldn't get on the scale everyday, but that's just me. I go by how my clothes fit.

Barose, I also went to the gym but not as much during my initial detox stage (lasted about 2 1/2 mos.). After that was over I have noticed that I have WAY more strength and energy while at the gym than before. I love to take some vitamin c powder right before (it's not raw, no) to get an even greater kick. My stength is going back to what it was when I was in my early twenties and I'm 32 going on 33 now. My body is certainly healing itself and lifting weights is a true joy now.

Onward we go!

Yummy. I'm drinking a green smoothie while I catch up on these posts. What a way to start the day, huh?

Mary: It's actually Rawkinloc's refried bean recipe. I just use it as taco meat sometimes. If you banana search taco filling, you might come up with other ideas, too. I would post the recipe here, but I know it's somewhere in the recipe threads.

Happy Raw day three, everyone!

Hi guys. My tummy stayed a mess all day yesterday with probably 20 trips to the bathroom for #2!! I ended up falling asleep when I got home from work and only got up for 1/2 hour then went back to sleep for the night. I figure my body needed it. I am doing better today, but my stomach is definately NOT back to normal. I had some miso broth yesterday for lunch...it was all I could manage. I don't really consider it cheating as I was sick and it was better than buying a bag of pretzels.

Food yesterday:
2 small bananas
miso broth
an apple
a raw pizza crust (plain)

Hi Everyone,
It's Day 3 and I'm still 100% raw. I've been doing some intense cardio weight training with my trainer and I still haven't lost any weight. What in the world could I be doing wrong, It's been two months that I have been 100% raw. Could it be that I am eating too much? I don't mean to be ranting, however, I should have had some significant weight release after two months. I did so well when I was on the Master Cleanse. Maybe I should do a fast again, only this time use Bragg Apple cider vinegar. Has anyone use ACV for a cleanse before? At least if I do the AVC I will still be raw, and it will jump start my weight release again. I'm sorry for not being positive today. I thought I would be farther along then I am. I have been so dedicated. Maybe I'm emotionally detoxing again.:(

My Stats
1/4/07 174lbs my highest weight. Went on a couple of water fasts.
2/9/07 161lbs Started Master Cleanse
2/26/07 150lbs Completed 17 day Master Cleanse

Good Morning everyone!

May 1 was great - all raw. Did my wheatgrass shot.
May 2, not all raw:( . But, I am still going to try and stay with the group, if thats OK with everyone?
May 3rd, Did my wheatgrass this morning and feeling a lot of drainage from my head and my throat feels yucky, lots of phlegm. So far had a grapefruit & orange fruit salad. Been feeling really depressed :o . I will hopefully deal with it better today than I did yesterday. I moment at a time. Still waiting for my seeds to come, plus I ordered "The Pleasure Trap" recommended by Valerie (thanks Valerie) and still waiting for it to arrive.

Congratulations StarFire - great weight loss and you sound so happy and energetic!

Loving Life - I don't do yoga, I have trouble getting down on the floor, but I do have a yoga cd that is exactly for people who cannot get down on the floor. I did it a few times several months ago.............maybe I should dig it out and start doing it again. That would be really good for me. I belong to the Religious Scientist and Namaste' is a greeting I picked up from fellow church people (the God within me, recognizes the God within you) I love it, so I use it.

Looking forward to a rawfully great day! Check in again tomorrow!

of my 30 day challenge.... and things are going well. Today I have had a banana-coconut smoothie and an almond (testing it to see if they are dehydrated enough LOL)

yesterday I made a yummy sesame/ginger/tamari dressing which I just loved. I will make another today..and maybe a tomato-basil one. I dehydrated some tomatoes the other day to use in the dressing. I have not been able to find good, bulk sun-dried tomatoes in this area (upstate NY). The Giant store brand uses sulphur dioxide and they still smell rotten and sour..LOL..

I think i iwll go to the grocery store tomorrow and get some things to make the kofta ball curry recipe Beckla posted. It looks so yummy. I will have it for my special Friday meal. :-)

 I have no Idea whats wrong... But eating too much is possible... though I mean real OVEREATING... well...Eating too FEW can have same effect! what do you eat then? Lots of fat and very sweet fruit?? I dunno...
Sports like biking, running, spinning and walking are good to loose weight...
Melone(mono in the morning) is good too...
Cutting out sodium(tends to make you eat more then you need)

well, dunno... I am sad I cant really help you!:( Though I think you already lost lots of weight and arent soooo overweight... are you? So its natural its going slower now... but hm... 2 month raw without any weightloss are real strange...

I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST!!!

I did awesome today! I feel on top of the world!:p You can check my blog if you wanna know more

I ate so far:
breakfast: apples
lunch: Lemon-Apple-Pudding:eek: SO YUUUUUUUMMI AND CREAMY!

Tuliza

Hi Tuliza,

I'm curious to know what "weight loss" means to you? Have you dropped any pounds at all, are you losing weight slower than you'd like, or have you stopped losing weight period? How often do you weigh yourself and what is your body fat percentage? Maybe keeping a food diary for a few weeks would help? I've never used ACV for a cleanse. Take it easy on yourself and hang in there. You will lose weight and meet your goal if you have faith and trust. We don't really know a lot of details as to what you're eating, drinking and doing at the gym. You could even consider doing some interval cardio training and weight training. Maybe you are already, I dunno. Good luck and stay positive.

I am feeling like I need more protein. Any advise?

Tuliza....what do u eat daily. I was not losing much either until i went on the green smoothie all day like Val did. I actually did it dif. I also ate raw celery, cabbage and radishes. I lost a # a day but I am way overweight and so I think that might have something to do with it.
If u r doing strength training u will not lose much or fast. I have a friend who could not lose any weight and now that her doctor told her she should give up trying to build up major muscle and to tone and get her colesterol where it should be she is doing better.

Is your weight goal a realistic one for your height or is it where u want to be. That makes a dif.
As far as the Cleanse goes u gained a # after u went off it and then stalled so maybe that cleanse is not so good. U cannot keep doing a Cleanse to lose weigth. I dont think that is good for your body.
Just eat a lot of veggies. Make a lot of green smoothies and drink them. I have cut back on how much fruit i use in my smoothies and quit eating nuts. Not only did the nuts put me in stall but it also caused intestinal problems but that was my fault as I cannot stop eating once i start.

Post what u eat daily. Only way we can know but i eat all day long. Just low calorie greens.:D

Hello Everyone!

I'm checking in very quickly. I am going to do my best to check in regularly but chances are it might not happen always - lots of deadlines to meet in May.

I am going to take time this evening and read everyone's posts. Wow! Quite a few since I posted yesterday.

The deal for today:

5:30 bowl of sliced peach with strawberries
7:30 grapes
9:30 bowl of sliced peach with strawberries
12:30 salad (lettuce, cherry tomatoes, avocado, made a honey mustard dressing)
3:30 the rest of that salad
about 10 pistachios
(the amount of pistacios and macadamias I bought yesterday doesn't equate to a literal handful because they are just too expensive for my blood:D bought around $2.50 worth)

I don't know what the deal will be this eveing; feeling kind of full right now so who knows.

Hi everyone! I sure wish I had time to post to everyone!
Tuliza: It seems your weight has been stuck for awhile. I know...I KNOW...this is frustrating, I'm doing the same thing. It seems I was loosing when I was eating more veggies...and the only fat I was getting was minimal nuts and an avo everyday. I wasn't really limiting the fats, but for some reason, the avo seemed to help me get rid of the weight better???? Maybe it's not as "dense" as the nuts??? I also was limiting my fruit. I know Alissa says to eat whatever you want, and maybe that was HER experience, but so far, it doesn't seem to be for me. I DO believe that you should eat stuff you really LOVE, just not whatever you want (does that make sense?) LIKE; I can eat ANY veggie I LOVE...but limit my fruit and nut intake...yes get some nuts and fats everyday, just don't let that be mostly what I eat...fill up on greens and veggies...like 70% veggies...20% fat...10 fruit???? (I'm limiting fruit because of a candida problem!!) kinda like that, without measuring, of course. Can anyone give me their opinion on that???
Anyway, good luck....I know, from experience how frustrating a platue can be...I'm at one now, and I was loosing when I followed the above "plan", but have gained it all back when I became "free-er" in what I ate!:(
Everyone take care!
Today's food has been just my "May Day Smoothie"
I need to eat lunch...and dinner will probably be a salad with AVO!

Maybe I'll have more time tomorrow!

Actually, I've read that you should do strength training to lose weight. Muscle burns fat at a faster rate than cardio alone. It also burns fat long before the workout is over. Too much cardio can burn muscle. Of course, muscle is heavier than fat, but who cares about #s on the scale, you will lose inches.

But I guess everyone is different. I have a muscular build and was told to not do more than 30 minutes of cardio (running/biking) 3-4x a week. I was doing a lot of cardio but not really seeing results. Once I started focusing on my large muscle groups (core, gluts, leg, etc) I started getting leaner. I don’t know how much I weigh because I don’t own a scale.

Tuliza have you taken body measurements to see if you have lost inches? You had said you have been doing intense cardio workouts; perhaps you are overdoing the exercise. Exercise is so important especially to move lymphatic fluids but by over extending ourselves we can create acidity in our bodies and not having proper pH can slow the process of healing and detoxifying. A gradual increase over time is perhaps what’s needed.

I have a love hate relationship with my scale; a compulsive behavior of always having to see the numbers. I think with the next 30 day raw challenge I’ll weigh myself before and then after the 30 days. In fact why wait till then. Anyone else care to join me in “Kicking the almighty scale to the curb” challenge?

Hey Guys,

I got a late start out of the gate. But I'm in the race with ya now!!!
Today I ate bananas, mango, and lots of almond nuts. Tonight I plan on working my dehydrator all night long!

Raw Alchemist... good luck with 'kicking your scale to the curb.' I always thought it would be great to use your clothes, instead of the scale, as an indicator on weight loss. But I"m too weak to commit. Please let me know your progress. Hopefully you can find a buddy on here to be a support system. And you'll be an inspiration for me:D

Thanks everyone for your support and advice.
Here is my typical daily meal:

Breakfast: A fruit or fresh Juiced juice. (Apple, carrot, etc.)

Lunch: Raw veggie sushi

1 Nori sheet
Ground carrot and ginger( organic)
Sprouts or a 1/2 avocado
A spray of Bragg's liquid aminos

Snack: Dried Fruit ( organic/unsulfered) or raw nuts

Dinner: Large green salad w/ Bragg's Ginger/Sesame salad
dressing. w/ sprouts.

I drink water and I drink a ACV mixture 3x daily or more. I also have a cup of "Smooth Move" tea to aid cleansing the bowel. This is what I eat,
with occasional variations.

My exercise routine is 30 minutes cardio weight training and 30 minutes of swimming. My walking is still not great yet, due to surgery.

Elizabeth, Thank you for your care and support.

The Raw Alchemist, I do have an addiction with the scale. I have been weighing myself everyday.

Zuri, Six years ago I was slender and fit and was able to enjoy activities with my husband. Now I am unable to walk to the car (due to surgery on my ankle). The extra weight I gained is too much on my ankle and it's swollen like a balloon all the time. Releasing weight would make me feel so much better.

Barose, I've been doing the cardio weight training every other day. I have lost inches, however that has stopped also.

Tvillemom, Green leafy vegetable are the most of what I eat, and I eat a variety in a large salad.

Punkspirit, I used to have a problem overeating cooked high calorie food. and I would gain weight quickly. The good thing is, since the Master Cleanse, I have only gained 3 pounds. I 'm not happy about it, however,it's better than gaining all my weight back.

Thank you all for helping me out of my blue funk.

Blessed be,
Tuliza

Just popping in to say a quick hi! My fast is going well (on day 4) and I should be back to eating by next Saturday (12th) which is my birthday. Then I may join back up with you all. I do miss all of you! I hope your raw challenges are going well. The reason I am not officially in this forum is it is hard to read about all the yummy food you all are eating! Oh and I am estatic to be out of the 170's (even though I have lost while fasting I hope I don't go back to the 170's). As you know I plateaued there for a long while! Since Monday I have lost another 2 pounds.

Tuliza - hang in there. I think your body is just needing to adjust. You lost a lot of weight during that cleanse and kept 95% of it off. That is incredible! I read a post of someone who gained back all of the weight after eating again. And for the most part this is typical with fasts. So your body probably just needs some additional time to release. Also do you remember if you were at 150 for a long time in the past. I hear that our bodies have memories and it is difficult to drop below weights that we seemed to rest at for long periods of time. Just keep doing what you are doing and it will come off. It sounds like you eat a very healthy diet.

Morn, great to see you stopping in!

I had such a great day today. I have been feeling a little blah, due to my 'friend' approaching visit time. Today I ate 2 bananas, half a thing of strawberries, a large salad, and an apple. For supper I am really digging the thought of some kiwis, a tangerine and some more salad!

I read a post by Rawkinlocks the other day that completely 180'd my thoughts on raw food. I don't remember exactly what she said, but it made my view on raw completely different. Sometimes I struggle emotionally with being on a diet that is so drastically different from what so many people I know are eating. I get a lot of crap from people who don't understand the vegan movement and who understand raw eating even less. And so sometimes I will think is it worth it, even though I know it is! And when I read this post by Rawkinlocks (oh, I remember, it was her posting about everything she had healed in her body by going raw and it was so inspiring to read) I felt completely different and invigorated. Not to say that other people here haven't shown me what a difference this way has made in their lives, but that post got to me and made me stop and think for a while, really think and it made me so happy to know that I am a part of something that is going to change me for so much better. So big thanks once again to everyone who has been so awesome and encouraging here! Keep it up :)

Today, Day 3 of the May Challenge (and Day 13 of my raw journey) was just peachy...

Thanks to everyone for the feedback on the scale, etc... sounds like I need to be a little less attached to my scale! I will try to weigh myself just once a week...

Today:

Barley Max (green food from Hallelujah Acres that I had in my cupboard...) with water and chia seed

smoothie with orange, banana, mixed frozen berries, coconut butter, bee pollen, goji berries, agave nectar

HUGE salad of mixed organic greens, avocado, mixed sprouted beans and lentils, cucumber with vinegrette

Not too hungry today... that salad filled me up!

Hope you guys are all doing AWESOME! I am feeling so good! I still have a lot to lose, but I know it's gonna happen...

Take care everyone...

Here here! My experience also. Plus, I've heard trainers say this over and over and over again. I really wish I could get all women together and have a trainer tell them this. Women are afraid of weights when that is the very thing they may want to make a huge part of their work out routine. I do weight training twice a week for lower and upper body and I do light muscle conditioning once a week. My body is getting lean faster than if I were to do long bouts of cardio.

Also, studies show that short burts/or interval training as cardio burns more fat/calories.

Good morning everyone! I have a busy day planned! The kids and I are going to visit a friend whose last days at work on a college campus, at a WELL KNOWN coffee franchise (*****bucks) Well, she will be out of work because college will be out for the summer, so I thought we would surprise her at work with a visit! We are also going to the public library near there for some more books.
I have done really good eating:
B: water, tea, May Day Shake
L: think organic bar
D: large green salad w/ an avo mixed with herbs and water for the dressing.

I need more water....and plan to weigh on Tuesdays, as that was the first of May...but I feel larger, instead of smaller. I think it is "cycle" related, and I am NOT going to dwell on it.
Tuliza: maybe you are pushing yourself TOO hard on the cardio?? Just a thought. I am sure your head is spinning from all the advice lately....but I feel your pain. Realize this though: you are HEALTHY! I have come to the conclusion that I am healthy, and I may never get smaller, but being healthy is what RAW is REALLY about for me. DH and I had a small arguement because I wasn't really loosing weight, and I explained to him that RAW was not a weightloss diet, but a lifestyle. I know eventually, the weight will probably come off, but it took me 10+ years to put the weight on...it should take at least a year to make REAL changes! Hang in there!

I'm off for the day!
Everyone is doing great!
Morn: good luck with your fast...my birthday is this month too...the 30th.:D YAY for adding years and FEELING younger!!

My raw journey is approaching the 1 year mark. This month holds many things for me. I have approx. 20 pounds to go (maybe 18) before I reach the 100 pound weight loss and so I am going to really count down this month as I believe this is going to happen before my birthday next month.

Tuliza:)

I just wanted to wish you a happy Friday today. It is really so much easier said that done but try your very best to trust the process. I think you are thinking too much about the weight. I have been known to "think" myself out of many things. Here is what you know:

1. you know that you are eating healthy life sustaining foods
2. you know that you are exercising which is strengthing your body system

Now just knowing those two things means that your body is actively working on regulating and healing itself. Trust the process and don't rush it. I am a firm believer that stress can not only trigger weight gain but can be an impediment when the body is attempting to heal itself. Your mindset is just as important - if not more than - what you are physically doing (the eating and exercise). It all begins in the mind and you have got to be clear about why you are doing what you are doing and find peace with it.

I think you are doing wonderfully and you are exactly where you should be in your journey - you have to believe it though:)

Lavendar: Wow - you are doing so fantastic!! Great job! And what a birthday present you have given yourself. You should be so proud...and I'm sure the difference in how you feel b/w this year and last is incredible.

Barose: There is a raw foods brunch (mexican themed) on Sunday at pena pachamana in north beach (not a raw restaurant, but the chef is taking it over every now and then). Just thought I'd let ya know. It looks yummy. It's only about 5 blocks from me so I def plan on going. Let me know if you want me to send you the menu.

Good morning everyone. Happy friday!! :)

Happy Day 4, everyone!

It sounds like everyone is doing great so far. I'm sorry to hear about those of you who are going through detox. Except, not really. I am glad to hear that those toxins are getting out of your body, and while you feel crummy now, I'm sure you'll feel four million times better afterwards. I'm kind of looking forward to detox. (I've had the poos today, and that kind of makes me happy...getting gross stuff out. TMI, sorry)

I'm down with not checking my scale. I tend to get bummed out when I do. I'm going to wait until I feel like I'm smaller (or at the end of the month). I'm focusing not on weight loss, but on having more energy, being healthier, and knowing I'm going to live longer as a result of this change in lifestyle (I'm 22 right now).

Yesterday I heard Matt Monarch and Angela Stokes speak, and it was great. Not a lot that I hadn't heard before, but still informational. It's interesting how each raw food "guru" has different opinions on things -- whether or not to eat cacao, colon hydrotherapy, etc.

Yesterday, I had a weird eating day. I was tired all day, but I didn't want to eat anything I had. I had a banana-pineapple-spinach green smoothie which was only ok. I had some flax crackers and guacamole with a tomato on the side. I ate an apple (I really wanted an orange). I did eat an orange when I went to the Raw Talk last night (it was at Wild Oats). Then I had a banana. Wow. I really didn't eat a lot yesterday. I feel like I had to have had something else, but I really don't think I did.

This morning, I haven't eating anything yet (other than a couple mango pieces I cut up for my smoothie).

I have a green smoothie waiting to be consumed -- banana, mango, kale
I have a salad waiting to be consumed -- spinach, tomato, sweet corn, and a homemade dressing with ACV, EVOO, honey, and lemon juice.
I also have a pear, two apples, and a lara bar with me in case I get hungrier at work today.

I'm very excited for my salad dressing. I tested it while making it, and woo-ee, it's good. I got to use my new lemon juicer, too!

After this week, I'll probably be fishing for some more encouragement. I have a ton of wedding showers, bachelorette parties, graduation parties, birthday things, and weddings to go to. It's nuts. I'll take some nuts in my purse when I go, too.

I'm doing okay -- 2 days all raw, 1 day high raw. Went to a birthday gathering yesterday -- brought a spinach/mango salad which everyone loved. They told me they felt sorry that I couldn't eat the muffins they were enjoying, the chocolate torte they were enjoying, etc. and I asked them why? It didn't bother me in the least not to eat what they were eating. The only thing that 1/2 tempted me were the mushrooms in the quiche they made. I wanted to scoop the mushrooms off the top and eat them -- wishing I'd dehydrated some at home.

I did come home and eat some cooked potatoes later though. I have to make more grain/starch raw recipes to get me past the need for those. Still feel great though. Off to another great May day!

Totally! I love weight traning--my heart rates goes up and I'm getting leaner. I do a lot of trail running up hills and its good for the legs and bum and I've seen results much faster than running on a flat surface. Some people are just not built for a lot of straight cardio (unlike long distance runners, etc).

Hey Barose...

Hi! Really, thanks to everyone for posting your daily menus!!! I'm newly re-dedicated to 100% raw and I feel like I'm at my wits end right now!!! The only thing I had this morning is a fruit salid and a banana/mango/almond milk smoothie... I'm feeling really hungry, so I decided to look on the site here to see if I can find anything that might satisfy me, and I saw your comments. I think sometimes I forget how simple this needs to be. I'm gonna go nibble on some cantelope until I feel more like a satisfied human and less like a savage animal!!!!

Zuri and Barose -- I love weight training too. I look and feel so much healthier than I do when I'm just doing cardio and/or yoga. As much as I'd love to only do yoga, my body needs more. Plus I love that feeling of really pushing myself and working up a good sweat.

ReneeH -- Two Renee's here (and the same spelling! :) ) -- I can't stand feeling like a savaged animal either. I love feeling content and in control.

5th day on my fast and I am feeling good (have lost 5 pounds total since Monday). I dreamed last night that I got a tummy tuck and my stomach got even larger than it was. I looked like I had a budda belly. Don't know what that means.

My husband updated the website last night with my new 7 months pictures and journal entries. The pictures were taken before I fasted and since I had a huge plateu from month 6 to month 7 not a lot of change. But if you guys want to look they are there now. I know VP asked about them a few weeks ago just too busy to get them updated.

KEEP UP THE GOOD EATING EVERYONE AND KNOW THAT YOU ARE FEEDING YOUR BODY THE VERY BEST! REJOICE IN THIS BECAUSE IF NOTHING ELSE HAPPENS (LIKE WEIGHTLOSS) YOU ARE CHANGING YOUR LIFE AND OVERALL HEALTH!

Hehehe, speaking of eating...one day while eating lunch one of my co-workers compared me to a giraffe, because of the way I was eating my salad...you know how you've seen giraffes munch with the veggie hangin out of their mouth? LOL!!

Renee, happy cantalope eatin'. ;)

I sometimes forget too. I have a few walnuts and kiws in my bag. To keep the cravings down, I have to make sure I'm not super hungry---like now!
