Hi, I'm Cat and I live in central Ohio. I'm a 25 year old homeschooling mom to 3 girls, Melissa is 4, Lydia's almost 3, and Kimberly is 15 months old, plus I'm expecting baby #4 on September 1st (but inducing hopefully late August since I tend to have big babies and my OB doesn't want another complication with baby getting stuck in a bad way on the way out, like what happened with my current youngest) I've researched and prayed about this raw diet for a long time, and decided recently to slowly introduce it into my diet and my family's diet as well, with a lot of resistence from my veggie-hating husband. LOL The kids are loving it so far, they hate meats and most cooked foods anyways. Anyways, I look forward to learning more and getting a full 100% raw diet happening by the end of the year hopefully, I have depression and anxiety problems as well as some physical health problems and have been told for a few years by my physician that a raw diet would greatly improve my overall health, plus i have about 30lbs to lose when I'm not pregnant on top of it so I guess it'll help with that too. Yes, I said that my physician told me to consider a raw diet, she's real big into natural stuff whenever possible and knows that I'm open to such things, although her view on breastfeeding isn't quite so progressive (she tells me regularly tht my milk is only carbs once baby hits 3 months old, and that I need to start then with formula and babyfoods, NOT HAPPENING, although this time I decided to go with organic formula due to just being flat tired and worn out from nursing for almost 4 years straight, including tandem nursing once for 9 months with my second and third, I just got my yougnest weaned last month and am really enjoying the break)

Welcome and PHEW! I got tired reading your post! You will learn so much here! There is a banana up there  and you can use that to search for any and all info. I suggest getting Alissa's book too. THAT is a wealth of information.
Of course the kids like raw food - they haven't been tainted yet. Your hubby will grow to like them. Don't get bummed out by him. Think of how healthy your little ones will be if you start them now? WOW!!!

Welcome to RFT! Congrats on adding in more raw foods to your diet. I too have a resistant husband so I know what you mean. A lot of people slowly transition into raw food. This may be a good idea in your case with your husband.

I am really surprised that your doctor recommended a raw diet. I have never heard of that before but I am glad!

Best wishes for you and your family as you stive to eat healthier!
