Ok, as I prepare to go raw, I have two very specific food questions:
* I personally HATE bananas. They are in a ton of recipes though. I am sure the consistancy is one reason (squishy and mushy) - so, are there other fruits of similar consistancy that might be used as a substitute?
* The other question is on Walnuts - I have an allergic type reaction to them, not sure if it is the walnuts themselves or the way they are processed, but when a raw dish calls for Walnuts could I substitute something for that, such as pecans?
* Oh, and one more question that I just thought of? Spaghetti Squash - can you get the same "spaghetti" results from raw spaghetti squash?

As far as substituting bananas, I think it depends on the recipe but I'm sure you can substitute another fruit... do you have a specific recipe in mind?

You definitely can substitute pecans for walnuts... I do the opposite. I always substitute walnuts for pecans!

Last question... h'm not sure of, I've never heard of spaghetti squash. I just know that raw foodists make "spaghetti" from squash... usually zucchini.

depending on the recipe, you could sub avocado for banana for the consistency/texture and then add agave or dates to sweeter it back up..maybe even some vanilla bean too.

i used to regularly sub pecans for walnuts and vise versa, depending on which was cheaper at the time.

and i dont know the answer to the last ? either :o
