im on day 6 of a juice feast/fast..and ive been doing almost completely green juice (except yesterday i juiced an apple and a grapefruit just..because i felt like it).

this morning i woke up around 8 am, and spent about 4 hours running back and forth to the bathroom, and not to pee.. i drank 40 oz of water to replenish some hydration, and went back to sleep after this for about an hour because it was exhausting (and by the looks of it..pretty darn cleansing...). when i woke up, i made 32 oz of celery juice, and drank. after another hour or so i drank another 32 oz of celery/kale juice. this caused another..race-to-the-bathroom extravaganza for the next 3 hours (about every 45 mins or so). ive probably gone to the bathroom about 10 times today so far (NO exaggeration), and the last half have been very..watery. but not clear. (how is there even that much INSIDE of me?!)

im currently drinking another 40 oz of water. i took senna leaf 3 days ago, the recommended dose. but i dont think this is from that (ive used it before, in higher doses, and was fine. plus, its been 3 days.)..i think this is detox. but ive NEVER detoxed like this before. ever. and i just want to make sure im drinking the right things to help replenish my body.

water..and then celery juice for the electrolytes. any other suggestions for juices to try and get in? im trying to do low or no fruit juice for the time being still.

any suggestions would be appreciated :)

What is your intent with this fast? IF it's to detox, seems you've got it going on. I'm confused as to what you are asking for.

celery juice is a diuretic so if you worry about dehydration, don't drink it.

Hey there Eatyourbroccoli. I went through the same thing at the beginning of my fast. I had about two days where I was in and out of the bathroom and poof, like magic, it stopped.

I chalked it up to my body just doing its' thing. Cleaning itself out. Plus with just being on liquids, I figured it was coming out so frequently cuz my intestines weren't all blocked up with food. Just my theory.

Try drinking some coconut water. It's extremely hydrating and won't have you doing to the bathroom like the celery will.:D

Hey eatyourbroccoli. I just saw this, so sorry it's "old news."

I would say it was DEFINITELY the senna!!!!!!

Sorry for the major exclamation points, but here's what would have been going on:

You've got LOTS of impacted stuff in your gut & it took those 3 days for the senna to work itself down to a place in your intestines where it "did its thing."

I once was taking 2 herb laxative cleansing tablets a day, morning & evening, for over 2 weeks. It took that entire time before the tablets broke down in my system & finally worked. (In the bathroom almost 18 hrs straight! )

Senna works EXACTLY like what you described. Another thing about it: not all the tiny leaves work their way out through your intestines at once. Some of them can lodge in pockets in your intestines & take several days before they all come out. That's why taking senna can still be working as a laxative in your system 3 days later.

As for celery juice--it's just going to go right through you instantly, acting like a diuretic, which it is. (As everyone said.)

Good luck! :)
