Hi, everyone. My name's Eileen (obviously). I'm 33, married and live in Buffalo, NY. I have been reading the forums on and off for a while now, and actually have Alissa's book.
The reason I named my intro thread "Long Road Ahead," is because I've made the decision to finally go raw. I have several illnesses - rheumatoid arthritis, peripheral neuropathy and IBS, namely, and recently, have begun exhibiting symptoms of MS. I am at my wits' end, and medication does NOT seem to help me. My husband and I want to try to have a baby, and most meds prescribed for these diseases cannot be taken when pregnant. I've been off most everything except prednisone and LorTab, neither of which I have any desire to continue taking for the long haul.
The more I've researched and read, the more sense going raw makes to me. I've heard so many stories of people who've arrested or reversed similar autoimmune and neurological conditions just by changing their diet. And I'm ready to make that change. So, here I am - and hello!
