I am new to Rawfood Talk and pretty new to raw food. I have been dabbling but not going 100% in any way shape or form. I need to make the 30 day challenge my commitment and stick with it. Looking for any advise on how to stay with it. I am trying to eliminate inflammation which was discovered during shoulder surgery and now seems to have invaded my knees as well. I don't want to go through another painful surgery and want to find a natural way to stop this problem.

Hey there - just wanted to welcome you to this amazing web site. I will let the more experienced Raw'bies give you advice though. I'm a newbie - only 16 days raw on the 30 day April Raw challenge. But I CAN tell you - that all of the experienced Rawbies - will be there for you - with a lot of support and with a lot of information -- and many times - with a good laugh!! :D Many blessings on your journey!

Hey Nettie - welcome! What I would suggest is get Alissa's book if you don't already have it. It's filled with info AND recipes. In the meantime if you want to start, keep it simple. For breakfast, make a fruit smoothie - you could even throw in some greens. For lunch, if you have a food processor you could make any number of recipes, many which you will find posted on this forum. For dinner, you could do a salad, a green smoothie esp. if you have a blender.
You can make this as simple as you want, or as complex. A lot of the time I prefer simple.
Earth provided us with fruit and veggies just for the picking! So stock up on organic fruit and veggies and nuts and seeds!
Have fun with this journey.
If you DO commit to a 30-day 100% raw challenge, you will see results. But you have to do 100%. That way your body will not tire itself of trying to digest SAD/CRAP foods.
I love green smoothies - as they are filling and full of goodness.
Victoria Boutenko has an amazing book out, "Green for Life", which explains the many, many benefits of HEALING green smoothies.
I can guarantee - and we all know there are not many guarantees in life, but I can guarantee that if you commit to a 100% raw 30-day challenge, you will see results of healing - fast!
Welcome again. And search around this forum. A quick and fun way is to use the banana up top. :rolleyes:
