What do I do with this stuff? I saw it at the asian store so I bought it because I recalled hearing that it was really good for you. Now I don't know what to do with it. I read it is used in sweet and savory dishes, but not sure what to do with it for raw recipes. A website I found said it is starchy so could it be a thickener? I am going to rehydrate and try some now, but would like some feedback too from anyone who knows about it.

Hmmmm. Not sure. ::wondering if it's raw::
I'd use it up in fruit smoothies, make a face masque with it? I've never heard of it.

Maybe it was purple corn I was thinking of and not yams. Hmmm.. It says dehydrated, but who knows what temperature. It is from the philipinnes. I was just going to use it more as a condiment or part of a pate. We will see. I rehydrated it and it tasted like sweet potatoes.

I made a filipino ice cream out of it several months ago ~ ube ice cream. It is very popular in the Philipines. When I was ill my caregiver made me some, but not raw. pics on are on my journal as well. Ube has alot of iron.
