Just had to share the excitement!! First a friend of mine is starting to eat raw. She's having a rough couple months at work and will go closer to 100% raw (with her husband, I think) in a couple weeks, but she's doing some already.

Next my mom is eating some raw already, too. We need to get her hooked up with a food processor and I may go over once or twice a week to make some recipes for her.

Next, my mother in law says she'll go raw while she's here for 3 weeks. Hopefully she'll take it home with her. She'll be back out again before July, so if she slips up at home, I have another chance to get her back on the raw wagon.

And, another friend who's been saying she could never do this unless I moved out there to cook for her, is seriously thinking about doing raw until dinner when she eats with her family. I know it will help her, but I never thought she'd actually try it.

And, as a side note, tonight was the first time someone mentioned that I've lost weight (who didn't know I was doing this.) Others may have noticed, but she was the first to mention it. She came up and said hi, then did a double take and said "You've lost weight!" Not a question, a bold statement :) Wow, that helps keep me from SAD strayings :)

That's so great that you are getting so many people interested in raw!
People usually tend to get interested in something when they see how it's changed someone positively. You are an inspiration :)
That's so awesome about your weight loss! Congrats Sedona Sun!
(I'm that way too, the more I lose the less I am tempting to cheat).

See how you are inspiring others! We can all talk until we're blue in the face, but being a walking advertisement is worth more than 1000 words! Congrats! :D

From the beginning I prayed that my journey would inpsire others to go raw and get healthier. (Not as something *I* did, but from them seeing the results in me.) Apparently that's happening :) Seeing those around me try it helps me with my own motivation because frankly, cooked food still tastes good to me. In moments of tiredness and boredom, I think, this is a lot more work than going to a drive thru, but then I stop because I know the weight would come right back on in no time if I stopped eating raw and we can't have that!

I'm thinking, though, that it might be a good idea to have a little pamphlet or booklet made up that explains raw and a little of my experiences. When that lady mentioned last night that I'd lost, she asked me how and when I first told her, she kinda made a face, like... raw, eeuw...then I told her there are hundreds of recipes to make--it's not all fruit and salad. But I'm wondering if it would help to be able to give them a little literature on it that might explain some of the more frequent questions or a typical day's meal or something...

Do any of you do that? Anyone have good ideas? I could do a website fairly cheaply and point them there. Hmmm, things to ponder.

Yanno, I'm getting a wee bit tired of the "EWWWwww! That's ALL you eat is fruit and salad???" bit myself. It would be a huge help to have a brochure or a small info card that gives the basics on eating raw to hand to people who ask what I eat.

Here's a title for ya, Kelly: "Not Just Fruit and Salad." Maybe?

Kelly, how wonderful that you are shining your light on so many lives.
When I read your post I thought that perhaps there is some natural instinct in all of us that raw sparks-an inner knowingness that this is just so right. You are sparking that instinct in your loved ones by your example. Truly wonderful. You're manifesting rawness everywhere, wow.

I have noticed that also. My husband lets me make him cantelope and carrot juice now, and the other day he asked to come for a walk with me. WOW.
My 10 year old daughter came up to me a few weeks ago and said, "Mom I want to be vegetarian" All on her own.

Isnt it fantastic? What a gift.
Congrats on your weightloss. A beautiful confirmation for you from your friend.
Keep shining that light!

Warmly
Carmel

Kelly, that's awesome, now you'll have to start a raw potluck in your area!

What a blessing to not be alone in this eh? :)
