Ya know I was thinking - "Ah go ahead and post the question - you KNOW someone out there will have a suggestion - after all -- they don't know you!" then I hit "submit" and then realize - well... there's my picture right there!! :D LOL!!! So now when you come to Hawaii and if you see me you can say..."Hey I KNOW YOU!! You're the girl that's CONSTIPATED!! :D

Ground flax seed and psyllium husk. Also, make sure you are drinking plenty of water. Move soon ~ Cathy

I think everyone is different - I found that banana and orange juice had that effect on me - but not my hubby - he's been eating tons of both! I did find that ground flax seeds definitely help. Good luck - hope things 'get moving' and you find what works/doesn't for you!:)

If new to raw the body may be holding onto the processed food not knowing if it is famine coming or not. (The pregnant human female body will even eat it's own fetus during famine - reabsorb the fetus into the body for the nutrients - the body will choose to support the host - the mother)

I notice that I often have to be a glutton to get my bowels to move. My body simply will not release them until it has had a chewed meal - not juice. This may be due to my long history of digestive problems encompassing the entire digestive tract. Dunno.

I am a long-time fan of slippery elm bark powder. 1 tsp to 1 tblsp in 1 cup hot water. For SAD people I spice it with cinamon and honey. Anybody who has been on this board any length of time is truly sick of reading me writing about the wonders of slippery elm bark powder. My husband had an horrible anal abcess recently and needed home health care for about a month after the hospital surgery. After being in the hospital he was horribly constipated and since he was in my care it became my choice to give him the slippery elm rather than that nasty pharmacy chemical he asked for. He is now a believer! Since he had open gaping bleeding wound in that area it was imperative that he move without straining and without explosive mess to pollute the open area. Slippery elm did that for him.

thanks for all the suggestions... and gosh your husband was dealing with such an awful  ... um... health thing there luckytri! Hope he's better. I've actually tried Slippery Elm before - I must be wierd I know - but it actually made my constipation worse. Another wierd thing is - alot of people will take catnip to calm them, it absolutely wires me -- hmmm maybe I'm part cat ;) !

LOL!!! You totally cracked me up! Not to worry...there have been many more, shall I say, "personal" questions asked here. :D You don't have to be embarrased here, that's for sure. And you're not the only one who has asked this question so see...you're in good company!

Hope the great suggestions here have helped you! :)
